This review is from: Contemporary Optical Image Processing with MATLAB (Hardcover)
The book is not something I would recommend to buy.
The theoretical part is not impressive (check Goodman's Intro to Fourier Optics and other classical books on optics for a much better treatment).
The code is a disaster. It seems the authors have no experience with MATLAB (or programming in general) at all. Full of errors AND DOES NOT MATCH THE theoretical part. Beware, the images presented here are only remotely related to the theoretical description that precedes them . Look, for example, at the Fresnel diffraction. The code introduces a Gaussian window which is not mentioned anywhere in the text. Then, the diffraction pattern is calculated at a very special distance z=4.9cm (not explained why). Have I mentioned the quality of the code?

This review is from: Contemporary Optical Image Processing with MATLAB (Hardcover)
This is a great book written those people who have lots of experiences with optics and the deep mathematics associated with optics. The best things I like about the book are the Matlab example programs found through out the book.
