4.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat hard to understand, October 17, 2011

The textbook was necessary for my class in Portugal. However, I found that some of the articles were hard to follow. I got bogged down by details. Also, many of the authors wrote their articles as if only experts on Portuguese history were reading the text.
