The fact this book exists is evidence to why we should listen to Ryan.
He had the balls to step outside a ‘comfy place’ and ask for money for people who were paying attention.
We all stepped up. And to be open about it, I didn't think it would be quite this good. I mean, it is REALLY good.
Not just because I get a mention as a great connector (which was appreciated) but because he tells the story of how the land lies, and most of all how the battle is won.
Ryan is a lover of his life, wife and son Duke; to generalize, on the battlefield he commands attention and mobilizes you into action with every chapter. My advice is to read this with a pen or pencil in your hand, and make notes. If you do, you will start to remap how content marketing, done well, stops being an uphill battle, and starts pushing you out in front.
Well done Ryan. Great work.

I supported Ryan's crowdfunding campaign on Publishizer.com to get an advance copy of this book. Having gotten the advance copy and read it cover to cover, here are my thoughts:

I can say without a doubt Content Warfare is the best book I've read on content marketing - ever.

That's saying something when content marketing is something I basically build my business and life around, but it's true. If you're not familiar with Ryan, he's a transparent, authentic, and honest voice in a noisy, crowded marketplace...and it's a breath of fresh air.

Grab you're copy today - it will force you to honestly evaluate yourself and your business, begging the question "am I doing my best work?" - a question that more books should force us to ask, in my opinion.

I bought this book thinking that it would help me with the creation of my content, but it didn't. The book seemed to be very unorganized; the author's thoughts jumped from topic to topic (often). The book did not seem to flow very well at all. I found certain sections to not make much sense together, and other sections were overstated. There were a lot of places in the book that were out of place. A lot of the information offered in the book was redundant and common sense. I learned NOTHING new from the simple fact that it was all common sense. I guess I was looking for a book that was going to lay everything down and give me actionable steps to complete. This book did not do that for me. I found it to be very boring. The majority of the book was boring. The last chapter of the book made sense, and I learned a new "nugget" here and there. Mostly the book was a complete miss for me. The book was pumped with motivation and other people's success stories; which are OK. Quotes from people seemed to be "sprinkled" throughout the text, but in the wrong places. This tactic was not effective at all; it was annoying because it seemed to be rushed and put there to have an effect, but it didn't have one). I wanted a book more on giving me examples (listing them in an outline, bullet list, steps, etc.) and showing me how to create that content. Give me real examples! For example, show me actual images of what works well and what doesn't. Show me how you personally attack this area. Don't just give me a book full of motivation that I can do it. I KNOW I can do it; I just wanted you to show me HOW. I didn't get that. The title of the book is misleading. It was not "Content Warfare" at all. The name of the book should have been "Motivation for Creating Content: You Can Do It!" Again, I know I CAN. However, I do LOVE his podcast. I guess I will continue to listen to his ideas as well as his guests there.

Purchased the hardcover and the mobi version of the Content Warfare book. Great work, Ryan! Been following the CW podcast since the first episode, and just had to get this book.

Love all the subject matter that is discussed, the samples given, and getting inspired to do more content creation than I am currently doing.

This is a true "how to book" if you are a business owner, marketer or just dabbling in the social media world to help grow your brand online, you need to read this book and listen to Ryan's podcasts. He asks that questions that I am thinking and shares some amazing "nuggets". A must read.

Ryan Hanley is one of the people I make it a point to follow, read, and emulate. I jumped at the chance to become part of the process by contributing to his crowdfunding campaign for this book. Why? Ryan actively practices what he preaches. I was already a fan and follower of his videos, his Google+ posts, and his podcast. It would have been crazy not to come on board at that early stage.

I was also lucky enough to secure Ryan as one of our keynote speakers to join us at our industry conference in Las Vegas. He was a massive hit.

The point? Ryan continues to prove that what he does and how he does it simply works. He is humble, passionate, trustworthy, intelligent, generous, kind and supportive. What else could you want in someone to invest your time and energy into?

As for the content of his book?

If you read nothing more than the prologue, forward, and introduction you will be ahead in the game. Seriously. Ryan packs a ton of sound advice, inspiration and motivation into the first 30 pages of the book, and you will find yourself in good hands from page one.

If you are looking for a way to succeed online today without fluff, without 'get rich quick' strategies, and want the guidance and insight that allow you to put in some solid, effective work as you formulate the plan for longterm success, click the buy now button and get yourself a copy of Content Warfare.
