Bought them for my 84-year old father who suffers with severe shaking in his hands. Wish the colors were available in more "subdued" options - still feels like he's using a "kiddie" cup - which he is, but the use of these cups could go beyond kids. They are excellent for him - no more spills or needing help just to get a drink!!! Great for independence and not feeling embarassed asking for help for such a basic thing.

Two suggestions for contigo - more non-"kid" color options and a little sturdier plastic like the water bottles - current plastic a little flimsy. Could definitely market these for people with disabilities especially if they had more "adult" look options. It's a great alternative to a "sippy" cup for adults with dexterity challenges.

My son loves these "push-in" cups, they don't require sucking, yet if he drops it, no leaks. Great transition from the sippy - but without the mess! Great for car trips.

I just received my 2 pack of Contigo Autoseal Kids 14 oz. Trekker Cups. I took them out of the box, washed them, and wrote my kids name on them w/ a Sharpie (for daycare). I did not even think to test them out b/f doing all of this b/c all of the reviews so far for this product are 5 stars. So afterward I put chocolate milk in the purple cup for my daughter who was excited to use her new cup, and I showed her how to press the "autoseal button" and sip. I gave her the cup, and watched her follow the very simple instructions just fine. BUT then, seconds later, I watched her turn it up and gulp w/o even pushing the button. I took the cup and turned it upside down over the sink and chocolate milk just poured right out of the spout that looks completely closed. I took the top off, screwed it back on, tried again. Still leaks. So much for "100-Percent spill and leak proof kids cup" in descpription of this item. I then tested the blue cup in the pack, and it worked as advertised. Even when turning the blue cup upside down and shaking, it did not leak at all.

So, I called Amazon customer service to see what I should do a/b a return since one works and one doesn't, and b/c I wrote her name on them already. They resolved the issue as fairly as they could by offering to refund me half of the purchase price. Guess I'll order another two pack and hope for better luck next time, and won't write on them b/f testing! I really like the concept and the one cup that works.

I must preface this review by saying that these water bottles do not leak whatsoever and I was absolutely thrilled with their performance. However, the design of the lid is such that it is absolutely impossible to fully clean the inside due to the sliding mechanism through which the beverage must pass. And it can't air dry either, and winds up trapping moisture in a confined space. The result? Gross, disgusting slimy gunk builds up inside the lid. It's dishwasher safe, but doesn't get into the nooks and crannies. Tossed them in the trash and am now looking for another leak proof alternative for my preschooler's lunchbox. Sigh.

i got this for a week now and its great. my pre-k & kinder loves using it and does not want to go to school without it.
the cleaning is easy but it gets getting use to. my advice is to wash the water bottle immediately after use especially after milk or juice because there is a silicone ring that seals the bottle and it collects residue. or if you don't have time just remove the top of the bottle with the silicone ring and place it in a bowl of soap and warm water. also don't forget to remove the silicone ring when washing it collects residue. placing back and removing the silicone ring is hard at first but after trying twice i got the hang of it. i used butter knife or paring knife to remove and place back the silicone ring its a lot faster.
when you receive it wash it immediately and do the leak test-tip it over.
as long as u tighten the cup all the way the bottle will not leak and always do the tip over test before giving it to the kids.

For the most part, I like these cups. I'm trying to rid my house of sippy cups and these seemed like a good choice. My kids (ages 4.5 and 2.5) have been using regular cups at meal times, but I wanted something they could use on-the-go or away from the kitchen table. I bought these at a local store by me and paid a few dollars more...I should have checked Amazon first! As soon as I unscrewed the top and looked at how the inside was designed, I know I would only use this cup for water...which was ok because that's mainly what I wanted the cup for. You really can't see inside the over to make sure it gets clean. So I don't want to use this cup for any liquid that could spoil or mold. Not that it happens often but cups do sometimes get mis-placed with kids. Lost under furniture or in the car. If mold would grow under the lid you really wouldn't know because you can't see decently into the bottom of the lid. I know the description says both parts are dishwasher safe, but I hand wash the covers. Again, I'm worried about the inside of the covers not drying properly.

As for the leak-proof aspect of this product, I think it works great. The cup is also easy enough for my 2.5 yr old to use. She uses the fingers on both hands to push the lever down. I think having to push down the lever in order to get liquid out is a great idea. The opening to drink out of seemed small to me so I tested it out myself and plenty of water came out. Yet when my kids drink out of it, it's not too much water that it runs down their face. I want to get more cups with the autoseal trait but will look around first to see if I can find a brand with a differently designed lid. If I don't find anything, I'll probably buy these again.
