This Continental Wall Hugger recycling receptacle is a rectangular, LLDPE recycling container for indoor disposal of recyclable materials that has molded handles for gripping and lifting, a rolled rim for extra strength, and a slim design for economy of space. LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) resists chipping, cracking, denting, warping, and UV damage better than LDPE (low-density polyethylene). The receptacle’s seamless construction increases durability and facilitates cleaning, and it features a bag cinch to keep poly-liners (sold separately) from bunching and slipping. Its recycle imprint clearly identifies it as a recycling container, distinguishing it from trash cans. It has a capacity of 23 gallons (79.59 L), and it measures 30 x 22.5 x 11 inches/76.2 x 57.15 x 27.94 cm (H x W x D). (H is the vertical distance from lowest to highest point, W is the horizontal distance from left to right, D is the horizontal distance from front to back.)
Trash cans are used for the disposal and temporary storage of garbage. They are typically made of plastic or metal and sometimes have a top or lid to contain odors and waste. Certain garbage cans meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for the disposal of medical waste or National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) requirements for food handling and processing. Others include a lock to prevent unauthorized access, safeguard confidential materials, and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. Waste bins can also be color-coded to facilitate the separation of recyclable waste, such as bottles, cans, paper, and general refuse. Ash/trash cans typically include an ash tray on top for cigarette disposal. Trash cans are used in virtually all commercial and industrial environments.
Continental manufactures plastic and metal products such as restroom supplies, buckets, refuse containers, carts, and trigger sprayers for the janitorial and food service industries. The company is headquartered in Bridgeton, MO.
