This tome is essential reading for anyone wishing to grasp some of the more difficult and technical provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It genuinely does what it promises in its title, through a careful discussion of the legal and scientific aspects of the continental shelf as well as the relationship between the two.
