Bobbi Molinsky's comfortable life is shattered when a forwarded email from her husband's account lands in her inbox. The email teases, "My whole evening is free again." After an angry confrontation with Chuck, she is left with the broken remains of an eighteen year marriage. Bobbi agrees forgiving Chuck is the right thing, the God-honoring thing to do, but it leaves her empty and isolated. Teaching her second-graders is a burden. Taking care of her boys saps all her energy. It seems God Himself has walked away, leaving her to struggle alone. Bobbi can't deny the transformation in Chuck, but genuine forgiveness requires trust, and trust is a risk she's not willing to take. Can she let go of her deepest, most primal fears and save her marriage?

After working several years as research chemist, Paula Wiseman was blessed the opportunity to stay home with her children and follow the writer's path. She has been published in several Cup of Comfort devotional books and in Life Savors for Women. She blogs on matters of life and faith at paulawiseman.com. Contingency is her first novel. She enjoys small town life in Illinois with her husband, Jon, and three children.
I write about real-world faith. Faith that isn't perfect, but is willing to struggle, to ask questions, and ultimately to answer the call to live beyond our limits. My blog is at www.paulawiseman.com
BIO I was born during the Summer of Love in Ashland, KY, but I moved to Pedro, OH after I married Jon, and now we live in Robinson, IL. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelors degree in Chemistry. I had a teaching certificate, but went to work for Ashland Petroleum Company as a chemist in the R&D department until my firstborn came along.
I have three wonderful kids, a little dog, and a hateful cat.

Writing Stuff-
I started writing almost as soon as I left my "day" job. Well, truth be told, I've been writing since I was a kid. I modeled my favorite stories, or wrote sequels to them. I wrote a full length novel while I was in college, and it currently resides in a dusty folder under my desk. I pursued writing for children and sold a story to Highlights Magazine. After a writing exercise, this plot began to form and this story began to nag at me, so in July 2005, I started work on the book that became Contingency. In the meantime, I had several devotional pieces published in Cup of Comfort books and one in a Tyndale collection called Life Savors for Women.
Testimony-
God is behind all of this. He has engineered every step I've taken in my life- from college, to work, to bringing Jon and me together, to my children, to the stories and the doors opened (and closed) in pursuit of publication. Every experience passes through His loving hands, approved and designed to bring about deeper Christ-likeness in me and glory to God. I have a deep passion for God's word because I know it's absolutely true and relevant.
I loved this book! Contingency kept me anxious for more as it unfolds the oh-so-many lives affected by adultery. Brilliantly real, I felt the pain of each of the characters as they fight to save their family, their marriage, and their relationship with God. I would recommend this book to ANYONE who has had turmoil in their lives, or even if you haven't, you will feel hopeful and peaceful in the knowledge that God has control and will walk with you through anything.
You will fall in love with the characters in this book!! Contingency is the story of Chuck and Bobbi and how they have to learn to REALLY trust God. Paula Wiseman does an amazing job as she weaves the story of Chuck and Bobbi's struggles as Bobbi deals with the fact that Chuck cheated on her. The story is so captivating that you feel every emotion that Bobbi does. I highly recommend this book for your collection! I can't wait for book #2!
I was wrapped up in the book from the first page. It was so interesting and I got so involved with the characters and their lives I could hardly put the book down. I really hated to finish the book because the characters were so engaging and I wanted to read more about them. I can't wait for the sequel to come out this spring! Comment
