What a privilege it is to be able to listen to music this exquisite. Past and future, restrained and ebulliant, every bit of this is inspired. Both of these artists have a lot to say as individuals - their conversations on this album are both with one another and with us. They deepen with each hearing, but they grab you from the first note.

This is the type of recording where no amount of words can do the music justice. The music is simply astounding, as obviously are the musicians performing it, as well as the compositions. In my opinion, bandolim virtuoso Hamilton de Holanda is one of the world's truly great musicians (yes, that is indeed saying a lot!). I was previously unfamiliar with Andre Mehmari, but will certainly seek out further material. Technical mastery and musical subtleness are the hallmarks of this recording, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
