First as a disclaimer I consider myself only an intermediate guitar player and I can't keep up with the genius of Mayer's guitar playing. I picked up this book yesterday and I've spent 3+ hours playing along to the album and so far I haven't been disappointed. In particular I have been impressed with the accuracy of the solo licks, and even the description of the (as far as I know) new fingerpicking techniques he's used on Heart Of Life and Stop This Train. So far the only limiting factor is me and the limited amount of time I've spent mastering these songs. Already this has been a really fun book to a great guitar album, and I'm looking forward to getting even better. Good job to the authors of this transcription.

Before this book, I'd been struggling with incorrect tabs for John's songs all over the internet. Once I purchased this book I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate and detailed each song is within the book. If you are up for learning John's songs and style, this book is a must

It's great to be able to listen to music by such a creative master, and it's even better to learn from him. John Mayer worked with the other authors and put together a completely and accurate collection of tablature and lyrics, all presented in a very clear concise package. It's a perfect complement to one of the best albums of the last year. Learning the lead and rhythm parts on Continuum has completely changed the way I play the guitar.

Ya gotta love John Mayer. BUT - Buy the paper version. Essentially the Kindle is not yet able to display music. Kindle Rip off really. Will try to return mine. Ha!

To put this all in perspective, I've only been playing for a year and a half. I'm pretty decent at reading tabs and music in general, as I have a piano background. However, compared to other guitar tablature books this one is not the easiest to read and is a bit tricky. I use it more as reference when getting through more complicated runs on You Tube. It does contain some of Mayer's more popular songs and overall I'm satisfied.

Continuum is one of my all-time favorite albums, and I ordered this book in order to get an insight into Mayer's simple yet profound songwriting (without taking the time to transcribe the whole record myself). This book is both accurate and simply laid out, and provided exactly what I needed. I recommend this book.

This is a great book to learn from. It is rather difficult as is John's playing. Don't let that discourage you though, practice & it comes easier. This book I believe to be note for note. It even tells you when to use your thumb over the back of the neck for low notes of the chords!

Not much to say - this is a very competent transcription of a great album. Amazon delivers by offering this at a low price.
