I used it to attach to the right-side of my dive mask and it worked like a charm. Most times I would forget that the contour roam was even there and. Highly recommended. I wish that GoPro would have something like this.... Their loss.

I also wish that Contour would include it in their standard package. They should show the whole setup attached to a diver's mask on their web site. The set would sell itself.

Note that to use this with a dive mask, you'll have to replace the dive mask standard strap with a $6 - $10 strap.

The goggle strap mount works great for me. I have roll off goggles so you can see the film holder in the corner of the screen but it is not overbearing or distracting, and would be easy to crop out. Holds the camera securely in place and doesn't vibrate, even for a B-Class XC racer. =)

Gives a nice first-person view of what the rider is encountering.

I tend to like all the Contour mounts. Each are made for a purpose, some for very specific purposes and some for more general - but they all work as designed (all of them that I have used). In my case, I don't use goggles and didn't need a mount for goggles. But I did need a mount that doesn't exist, and was looking at all the Contour mounts to determine which one would be best to "repurpose" to my need.

First, since not many will be interested in my odd use of the mount, let me describe it from a general point of view:

- Sturdy and precision made, just like all Contour mounts. It is made to fit perfectly with your Contour camera and it will.
- Adjustable angle. However, the angle must be adjusted when the two "halves" of the mount are paired. You cannot make adjustments to the camera angle once the mount is in place. The reason this is, is because the fabric of the goggle strap fits between the lower mount housing and the upper disc (with the mounting rails). This holds the camera to the goggle strap and also holds the position of the mount tightly in place.
- Non-skid padded backing. The mount base has a foam pad that will provide a comfortable fit against your head (if worn on a goggle strap). It also helps to hold the until from sliding or shaking.
- Safety teather. I use it, but it really doesn't seem like the camera is ever going to slip out of the mount. But a nice safety to have.

Getting the mount "just right" by inserting the mount disc into the base can take some practice. It is easy for the disc to be "one tooth off" when you snap it into place. That one tooth makes a big difference to camera angle... so you'll need to remove and retry. It took me several attempts to get it just right.

I bought this to work with my ContourROAM primarily for skiing/snowboarding. My main concern was since the ROAM was their newer model that it may not fit correctly. I was very happy to see that it fits very snugly and securely on the mount, and never had any worry that it would come off. The installation on my goggles was easy. For full disclosure, I use Smith I/O goggles, and it fit perfectly with that line of goggles, and didn't move around on the strap. I would recommend though to take a look at the goggles you intend to use and see if there is a spot on the side that the mount would have room to be on. I found that it sits closer towards the front of the goggle strap.

My only real complaint/issue is that with the weight of the contour and it bounces/jostles on my goggle strap sometimes when i ski (mostly if i hit a jump or stop suddenly), but it hasn't been bad enough to make me think that either 1). it may fall off, or 2). it compromises the quality of video, and honestly, it's a goggle mount, so I knew prior to buying it that it'd have some movement, and it's done better than I expected. I've fallen pretty hard a few times, and the camera was always secure.

Pros:
The mount itself is lightweight
Securely attaches the camera
Easy to get the camera on and off your goggles.

Cons:
Will have some movement, hits against the helmet.
No way to rotate the camera vertically without taking it out of the mount, makes it hard to adjust it on the fly.

Overall, I've been pleased with it. If you have a vented helmet that doesn't allow you to mount the camera on it directly, this is a very good alternative.

This is really a hokey design. There is a tab which slightly squeezes open a circular recess. In the circular recess, you insert the round disc which slides/mounts to the camera. The plastic is pretty stiff/thick, so it won't fall out, BUT there is a lot of play between the circular disc (the part with rails that fits into the camera) and the goggles base. Thus, the camera can rattle/flop around a significant amount. It really depends on how thick the goggles strap is. You may have to MacGyver it up a bit with some kind of shim material. They could have just designed it with a detent of some kind rather than relying on the goggle strap thickness to keep it from flopping around in the mount. For twenty bucks, this could have been designed/made a LOT better.
