I purchased this case and took my contourGPS diving at isla mujeres in Cancun. The enclosure worked perfectly. I got some superb video for both dives. The dives were shallow around 20ft max. The next day we took a trip to Cozumel and dived the Santa Rosa reef. The camera flooded by the time we reached 40ft....It ruined my $350 camera. So beware! The case will work in a pool but it is certainly not useful for diving. Unfortunately there were no specifications provided for this enclosure so I had to learn the expensive way. I hope you read and heed.

Bought an underwater housing for the GPS Contour. First trip out it opened underwater and ruined my camera. Contour refuses to do anything about it and says the case is normally like this and 'easy' to open.

I recently used the waterproof case (3321) on my new Contour GPS. I liked how it holds the camera in the case and the fact that the case doesn't affect the quality of the recording. I had used it for a few days of snorkeling and then the record switch on top stopped working. As others have stated, there's a magnet in the case switch that activates the recording, it doesn't physically move the switch on the camera. Based on all the problems posted in the Contour forums it's a common problem. If the magnet isn't close enough to the camera it won't start the recording. I wouldn't have thought the magnet or camera would move but apparently it can, or it can get reversed so that the case switch is in the "on" position but the camera is opposite. Either situation will force you to remove the camera to start recording. Quite a pain. Hopefully Contour will address the problem in the next design cycle.

I'm not sure how you can identify a case that could possibly be defective verses one that has been fixed, but buyer beware!

Decent product. The switch is worked off a magnet. I have a buddy that uses the one for the ContourHD and he had to send his cam back because the cases' magnet defunct the actual helmet cams magnetic switch. The case itself is well built. It comes with a lock on the backside so it wont fall off the mount regardless. For some reason its a pain to get the case off the mount when you want to though. I basicly have had to use tools to wiggle it off the divit. I am not near any water at the moment but when I get back to hawaii I am going to try diving with it. I expect it to work quite well. The weight is noticable but not bad enough to deem it not worth using. Over all it does what its advertised to do, but it could use some improvements.

Used this on my wake board at the beach. It took a beating over a week and stayed on and watertight. I did make sure the adapter and mounting plate and this case were all lanyard-ed to the board but none came loose. I also took the precaution of putting a strong wide rubber band over the front locking mechanism and one around the clip to the board... don't know if required though. My Contour GPS model functioned perfectly and I had no problems with switching on or off with the case in place. (I did wash in fresh water after each day's use, with particular attention to the slide). One surprise was that the microphone picked up wave noise and voices very well while in the case... particularly my comments on a wipeout! :) ) This was the Clear/Black case which I think the manufacturer has improved over the Clear/Yellow one. My grandson took it out with the facemask attachment and tooled around on snorkel... he thought it was great fun, had no problems with weight and balance, and did get some good video of fish.

This is a very easy case to use. Can get access to camera quickly. Have no problems using it in real diving situation. I would recommend it.

Best investment for my contour roam camera. I like that it's buoyant, and that I can tether it to me while I snorkel/scuba dive. Simple, easy to use latch to open and close it, but make sure to wash/rinse/dry the switch on the top, or it'll get harder and harder to slide, and eventually be useless!

Bought this over a year ago. It never correctly engaged the record switch. So I could not turn the record function on when the camera was in the case. I did the mfg suggested modification to fix. It still did not work. Seems like it just needs a stronger magnet. Contacted Contour they said they will replace it when they complete a new mfg run. We'll see if they follow through. My review would be a 4 if I could use the product as intended.

Update 5/19/14

I contacted Contour and they sent me a new one that works as it should. They told me this product will no longer be in production. The one they sent me is black and clear, instead of yellow and clear. If you want one of these for your Contour GPS camera don't buy the yellow one.

I waited too long to use it and now I have a useless housing. This housing is NOT for the Contour GPS.
