The case for the iPhone is hard to complain about. It's low profile and easy to grip. It doesn't add a lot of weight or bulk to the phone. However, the construction of the holster leaves something to be desired.

It has an articulating belt clip that is flimsy. I am on my third one and they have all broken at the same place. My remedy is super glue. I took the new one out of the box and immediately super glued the clip to the cradle. You give up the ability to rotate the phone horizontally and vertically but not many people use that feature anyway. Everything works fine after that.

This is my second Contour Showcase for my iPhone 3GS. I originally purchased this type of case when I bought the phone, based on the recommendation of the sales rep at our local Mac store. I have dropped the phone several times on various surfaces and it worked exactly as he said it would: protecting my phone from breakage. A few weeks ago, though, I dropped the phone on concrete and a small tab that snaps the case together broke off (my phone was not damaged). I was grateful to find this case was still available and purchase a replacement. One of the things I really like besides its protection value is the clear window on the back side: I slide a copy of my business card inside to id my phone. Highly recommended.

I've looked at many different covers and this one met all of the requirements. I needed a cover that was durable enough to handle an occasional drop, easily slides in and out of the my pocket, and still be grippy enough to hold. I have recommended this product to my friends and they're happy with it.

This thing is a piece of crap. I owned one which lasted three years before breaking. Then I purchased one from the Apple Store and one from Amazon. Neither would close correctly. It was like the mold was bad. I called the company and got no response. I went with the Otter Case. It was more expensive, but well worth it.

First let me start on naming a few of the many positives that this case has. If you are a returning customer of the Contour showcase line then you wil be familiar with the case that housed the various iPod models and how well constructed and durable these cases were. How they seemed capable of absorbing most any layer of abuse that you could throw at it? How they allowed you easy access to all of the controls,click-wheel and audio ports? How it encompassed every corner from face to back and its rubber sides allowed a secure yet comfortable grip? Then you will undoubtably also remember the seemingly difficulty unlocking and locking the case with the slide clasp and hinged cover? Well this case offers the same assurances and protections that its predecessor did albeit a slightly different hinge placement. This time the case halves are hinged midway down the back of the case. It's relatively easy to "insert" you device inside, but removing it can be a bit troublesome. Since there are no clasps to grasp, you must pry the case apart along the sides all the while remaining careful not to damage or dstroy the hinged back cover. Also this case has a tendency to collect dust inside around the speaker and on the back of the iPod Touch. All in all having dropped my relatively new Touch 3 or 4 times already on concrete and asphalt, narry a scratch nor a crack in it. Excellent protection and nicely designed case!!!

I have had a contour case for 3 ipods and my new iphone. These are the best for reducing thickness of a good case and protecion.

I have to admit I purchased the Contour case for my original iPhone (Gen 1) and then again when I upgraded to the 3GS. In both instances these cases have saved my phone! I can't tell you how often I've dropped my phone onto the concrete, and other than a few scratches on the outside of this case, no other problems.

The biggest complaint I have had is with the belt clip with this unit. I recently had to replace mine because I had it on my hip and it caught on my car door as I was in a hurry and ripped it right off. I preferred the belt clip and holster from the original iPhone case...seemed much better built, and easier to turn if I wanted it to be vertical instead of horizontal.

All in all, though, this case is the top of its class. Sturdy construction, easy to use, easy to remove the phone for cleaning, etc. I highly recommend this case!
