Very pleased with the camera, especially for $99.00. One tip - Buy a pack of cell phone screen protects and cut out pieces to go over the lense. It will keep your lense like new! Good video quality, drag and drop video files when you're done recording. The software you can download from the Countour site to manage the camera is easy to use.

I saw the Roam on U tube with TECHMOAN, and had to have it.

My son mounted this on his helmet he uses when doing airsoft (I'm not sure I'd call it "playing airsoft"). It has held up well and he likes the camera. It does not accept a 64GB memory card though; only up to a 32GB. Something to consider.

I had a hard time choosing between 2 stars and 3 stars. For one, i don't hate this camera (as per what Amazon suggests when you give it a 2 stars review). But I honestly cannot bring myself to say "It's okay".

The build of the camera is great. this feels like a quality product that should withstand most drops and knocks.

However, the low light performance of this camera is horrible. I use this while riding (motorcycle) and while it performs alright during the day (more of this later), it just plain suck at night. All I can make out from the night footage is just my dashboard. A blurred dashboard too. I eventually stopped bringing this out to ride at night.

In the day, I sometimes experience focusing problems with it. It would remain unfocused the entire trip home from work. Luckily, this happened less than 5 times over 4 months.

The sound of the videos isn't synced with the footage. I'm not sure if i'm one of the few who suffers from this problem.

Although this costs a fraction of what a GoPro (which seems like the industry standard today) does, I bought this hoping that it will perform somewhat comparable to an entry level GoPro. It did not live up to my expectations, sadly.

This is a great camera, it does however have some bad flaws.
I like the design of this camera a lot. It looks really good and feels tough. The video quality is good for the price aswell.
That being said, I would not suggest this camera for a helmet cam. The microphone is directly in front of the camera and the wind noise is just awful... so bad that I have to mute the sound to make the videos watchable. There is no external mic support either.
I also ran into an issue of the camera not supporting my MicroSD card. After various trouble shooting and formatting attempts I was disappointed to find out that this camera only supports UPTO 32gb cards, Which is roughly 4 and a half hours of HD video.

I have always ridden a bike for pleasure and fitness, but lately I have been doing more errands and shopping using my old commuter/folder. Unfortunately this involves dealing with downtown traffic, which has resulted in some close calls with autos. I've seen motorcyclist using helmet cams, which got me thinking it might be a good idea for me. I wasn't sure I would actually like to use a camera on bike, so the ROAM2 was a good compromise, allowing me to try one out without spending a lot of money. Since I have several bikes, the vented helmet mount was the logical choice, which works very well. The ease of using the camera is outstanding. Although I'm using the lowest video quality setting to save memory and get the best battery life, the video quality is excellent. The biggest compromise is the lack of a replaceable battery, and the very slow recharge time. After a two hour ride today it took 2-½ hours to recharge the battery this evening, even using a 10 watt supply. As a final note, I read some reviews which mentioned the difficulty of determining the proper camera lens orientation. My solution: hold the lens and rotate the camera body.
