"Contraceptive Technology" review,
By A Customer
This review is from: Contraceptive Technology (Paperback)
I have checked this book out of the Seattle Public Library so many times that I'm considering buying it for my personal reference library. I have recommended this book to many men and women. Excellent information (and things you did not expect to read) about differernt methods of birth control. If you want to be informed and educated about oral contraceptives, abortion and gynecology then you will find this book helpful.

A "must-have" for those caring for & prescribing for women.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Contraceptive Technology (17th Ed) (Paperback)
This is my second purchase of this excellent, comprehensive book. (It's updated periodically). It's an essential reference, a practical guide, a one-stop shopping not just for contraception but for a general approach to appropriate medical care for women. I highly recommend it. Pepi Granat, M.D.

This review is from: Contraceptive Technology (Paperback)
Contraceptive Technology is perhaps the best book available for understanding and using contraception. It should be in the office of every gynecologist, family physician and nurse practitioner and family planning clinic. The book explains complicated concepts in accurate, but easy to understand language. But it has not been updated since 1998 and it is now somewhat out-of-date. Most of the information in the book is still solid, but since publication, new technologies and understandings have occurred and these new data make it imperative that a new edition be issued before this book can maintain its role as the "bible" on reproductive health and technology.

Crucial Desk Reference,
This review is from: Contraceptive Technology, 18th Revised Edition, 2004 (Contraceptive Technology) (Paperback)
This is an integral desk reference for the reproductive health educator. This text outlines all that there is to know to date about contraceptive methods and their function. I don't inted to part with this until the 19th edition is released.

This review is from: Contraceptive Technology (Paperback)
Contraceptive Technology is a must-have reference for anyone interested in birth control. As a freelance medical writer/editor, I have used several revisions of this useful book over the years. I was very pleased when the long-awaited 19th revised edition was finally available. I had preordered the book directly from the publisher, who didn't follow through. Amazon, however, got me the book in record time.

Easy to Read Reference for Practitioners,
By
This review is from: Contraceptive Technology, 18th Revised Edition, 2004 (Contraceptive Technology) (Paperback)
I find this text an excellent source of easy to read information. Every method of birth control/contraception is covered, including fertility based methods, surgical procedures, etc. There is also applicable information in regards to women's health issues and sexuality. Another reviewer stated that this book needs an update; I've heard that another edition is coming out soon and I would imagine that it would include new methods that have become available since the publication of this edition.
I recommend this text to any women's health practitioner.

I found this book extremely helpful during my ob rotation as a nurse practitioner student. Any information you could possibly be looking for about contraception, from abstinence and fertility awareness based methods to medical and surgical abortions and everything in between is in this book. I found it easy to read and quite interesting. It is based on research and all references are readily available at the end of each chapter. It also has links to web sites that are extremely helpfull. I would recommend it to anyone interested in womens health and contraception. The newest version was published in 2008 and therefore relatively up to date. Highly recommended!!
