4.0 out of 5 stars Nice examples
Easy to follow instructions. Well written to suit the contractor's needs. I was able to get started with the basics without spending hundreds for the class.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners, lousy for me.
I ordered this book specifically to learn how to use "Items" better. This book is a complete failure at that particular subject. It would be a good book for someone just starting out using Quickbooks, however. But, if you're looking to "learn more than you already know", this isn't the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Especially Helpful Resource for Home Builders, January 9, 2008
This review is from: Contractor's Guide to Quickbooks Pro 2007 (Paperback)
While helpful for all contractors, this book is especially good for home builders whose accounting needs are more complex. The book does a good job of the steps to take in QuickBooks. There is a chapter detailing how to use WIP accounts during construction and how to record the ultimate sale of the home. However, some of it is too complex for smaller contractors. Overall, a very useful resource!

This was a great book to get started with QB... It really opened up some of the not so obvious capabilities of the program. Would love it if they would come out with the *next* level ie. more complex accounting that QB can handle. Great educational tool... a must have if you are new to QB.
