This book is great! But it's thorough.. which means you actually have to take the time to sit down and read all of it in order to get the gist of each chapter. This isn't something that can be skimmed a couple days before an final exam. I think it would work really well as a 1L prep book - I know I wish I had read it earlier!

The book was helpful but lacked practice problems..... Also wish it was written by Joseph Glannon! This E&E book gives good explanations of contracts but isnt the best E&E I have used before.

This is an easy read, and interesting as far as contract law can be. It really puts the casebook into context. My contracts class uses the casebook from the same author, so it was helpful that the same cases were discussed in each, but this book would probably be useful either way since most casebooks will at least be similar. I also found it helpful that the author uses bold-faced type for key words, which is great for studying even if you don't have time to read the whole book. I didn't start using it until preparing for my final exams, but next semester I will definitely use it as supplemental reading.

It was everything I expected and the examples are very valuable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an unfair advantage.

Test prep is all about practice, practice, and more practice. Each chapter has several questions to help you understand the contents. This book played a role in succeeding in my 1l contracts class. However, I found approaching my professor for practice questions to more helpful.

Examples and Explanation series are wonderful, and Blum is one of the very best. Highly recommend for law students. Make sure you buy the latest edition; they are very good with updating.

This book is terrific especially for those not fortunate enough to attend law school. The first couple of chapters does a great job of framing what to expect as you move forward in the book. The first chapter alone is a wealth of information. I found the chart covering innocent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, and fraud with the subsequent burden of proof on the plaintiff very helpful. The chapter on remedies has great examples to help readers understand the potential outcome for a breach of contract. Along with knowing if a breach of contract might step into the world of tort. Not as easy as you think.

As Blum suggested, most contract professors are unlikely to be invited speakers on the topic, despite the fact this topic permeates throughout our lives. Blum sprinkles humor throughout the book to keep the reader engaged. I own several different contract law books. By far, this book is my favorite.

This book is really good at taking a complex subject like contracts and breaking it down into a methodical, understandable and coherent approach to understanding what contracts is about. Each chapter ends with some examples and explanations to review. This book is over 800 pages, unsure if you'll have time to read it all, but at the very least you can use it as reference to recheck or clarify your understanding of contract concepts.
