A favorite among successful students, and often recommended by professors, the unique Examples & Explanations series gives you extremely clear introductions to concepts followed by realistic examples that mirror those presented in the classroom throughout the semester. Use at the beginning and midway through the semester to deepen your understanding through clear explanations, corresponding hypothetical fact patterns, and analysis. Then use to study for finals by reviewing the hypotheticals as well as the structure and reasoning behind the accompanying analysis. Designed to complement your casebook, the trusted Examples & Explanations titles get right to the point in a conversational, often humorous style that helps you learn the material each step of the way and prepare for the exam at the end of the course.

The unique, time-tested Examples & Explanations series is invaluable to teach yourself the subject from the first day of class until your last review before the final. Each guide:

  • helps you learn new material by working through chapters that explain each topic in simple language
  • challenges your understanding with hypotheticals similar to those presented in class
  • provides valuable opportunity to study for the final by reviewing the hypotheticals as well as the structure and reasoning behind the corresponding analysis
  • quickly gets to the point in conversational style laced with humor
  • remains a favorite among law school students
  • is often recommended by professors who encourage the use of study guides
  • works with ALL the major casebooks, suits any class on a given topic
  • provides an alternative perspective to help you understand your casebook and in-class lectures

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! October 28, 2011

This book is great! But it's thorough.. which means you actually have to take the time to sit down and read all of it in order to get the gist of each chapter. This isn't something that can be skimmed a couple days before an final exam. I think it would work really well as a 1L prep book - I know I wish I had read it earlier!

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful December 13, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The book was helpful but lacked practice problems..... Also wish it was written by Joseph Glannon! This E&E book gives good explanations of contracts but isnt the best E&E I have used before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Saved Me! September 29, 2011
Format:Paperback
This is an easy read, and interesting as far as contract law can be. It really puts the casebook into context. My contracts class uses the casebook from the same author, so it was helpful that the same cases were discussed in each, but this book would probably be useful either way since most casebooks will at least be similar. I also found it helpful that the author uses bold-faced type for key words, which is great for studying even if you don't have time to read the whole book. I didn't start using it until preparing for my final exams, but next semester I will definitely use it as supplemental reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite Helpful April 22, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This made contacts bearable. I don't think that I lost much buying an older edition being that Contract law hasn't changed in quite sometime. I recommend this with the Marvin Cherlstien book Cases and Concepts on Contract Law (the one with the sailboat).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good test preparation and supplements for your notes March 27, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Test prep is all about practice, practice, and more practice. Each chapter has several questions to help you understand the contents. This book played a role in succeeding in my 1l contracts class. However, I found approaching my professor for practice questions to more helpful.
