The architect spends a considerable amount of time in everyday practice carrying out various administrative tasks and dealing with problems and situations arising from the design and construction of each new building project. In order to do this effectively, a basic knowledge of relevant legal procedures is necessary, coupled with a broader understanding of the legal and professional issues at stake. The aim of this book is to provide a concise, simplified source of practical information which will help architects with these basic legal principles. The text also contains a series of checklists, diagrams and completed forms which provide a quick and easy reference guide. Each section of the book culminates with a number of problems that could be encountered by the architect, dealt with in the context of a simulated office scenario.
