Freeze Alarm Review December 28, 2008
The Control Products basic freeze alarm is a great value and easy to program. I tested it by placing it outside in December (I live in Minnesota) - but could have put it in the freezer, too. It takes almost an hour for the device to acclimate to the cold, so be patient. Once it got colder than the low temp setting I established, it called my cellphone. It also has a feature that will call my cellphone every 2 hours, just in case I somehow miss the first call. This is a great little device for a very reasonable cost!

A good basic freeze alarm March 27, 2009

This product works fine if you just need a phone call when the temperature goes below a set point. More expensive models will allow you to call in to find the temperature and alarm status

I purchased the Control Products Basic Alarm for my home. I am using it for home freeze (low home temperature) protection when away on vacation during the winter months. It's the basic model and very easy to program. What I liked about this product is you can go to the manufactures website [...] and see a very simple video on how to program and set it up. When I'm away from home it's nice to know that this device is monitoring the temperature and provides an alarm set point that when reached, your cell phone will ring with an alarm message. Although this device only costs approximately $50, it gives me peace of mind when away from home for a few days when nobody is at home.

We set up and tested this alarm (by putting it in the freezer) and it worked as advertized. Good peace-of-mind for a reasonable cost.
