5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to your TRON collection and more. December 10, 2010

When I recived the controller in the mail, I was surprised by how it was packaged. The controller came in a special case with a personal stand, information, and just a nice presentation. It was not until I actually pluged in the controller that I realized why they pacaged it the way they did.

The controller is absolutely beautiful with its sleek design, inner blue lights, and layout. As a huge TRON fan it made me extremely happy and satisfied that a brilliant idea was made to make TRON inspired game controllers.

Besides it being a good edition to any TRON fan's collection, it also preforms well as a stand alone controller. The buttons feel frim yet responsive, the sticks are crisp and precise, and the compact design felt natural. The only downside is the D-pad; I was expecting to have the improved and adjustable pad on the new controlers. the D-pad here is just a four sided cross. It still has diagonal directions, but it's hard to tell if it's working.

Besides the minor gripe with the D-pad, the controller is great as a replacement, and as a additon to any TRON fan's collection.

Well I got this controller more for the fact it was a "Tron" branded xbox controller, I was surprised I got a great controller also!

I will just list pros and cons to make it easier for some with some side notes:

(Pros)
-Better Dpad
-Nice long cord
-The LED lighting is quite amazing
-sticks pretty close to the officials design which means its quite nice to use
-Build quality is really good, not cheap feeling like most 3rd party controllers

(Cons)
-For some being wired is a turn off, for others it means no charging and since it is licensed by MS it works the same as an official pad on the PC
-Where you grip the controller is curved slightly more, so it takes a bit of time getting use to the feel, I have large hands so it felt a bit cramped at first
-The Xbox guide button is bad looking, it makes the controller seem sorta cheap

(Other things of note)
-The start and select buttons are up a bit higher, just takes some getting use to
-The buttons have a more audible click, it's not so much more that it caused me problems
-The analog sticks don't have little nubs like the MS pads (or the textures on the new MS pads) which means its a bit easier for your thumbs to slip off, but it's not too bad

Also included with the controller is a code so you can log on to the makers site to get a free shirt (just have to pay for the shipping) it's not a Tron brand shirt, but hey it looks neat :P

Well that's it, if your looking for a new wired pad this rivals the official pad and in some cases are better, if your a Tron fan then it makes this all the much better :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice controller December 1, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
For a collector, this is a fun controller! I bought this for a relative, but I did take it out of the box just to test it; the box is not wrapped in any conventional manner after all.

It lights up beautifully when hooked up to the Xbox and the grip feels a little more ergonomic than the standard Xbox controller. Buttons feel a little softer too, but whether that's a pro or a con is up to the individual gamer; personally, I like it but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

The con for me, however, is that the controller is wired. Sure, the lighting is pretty and would probably drain a battery, but I would have rather been given the option of charging it more frequently than be forced to have a wired controller. It's hard-wired, too, meaning that the wire cannot be unplugged for a longer USB cord. You could try a USB extension, but I read somewhere that going longer than 10' on a USB cord is not a good idea so I'm not advocating its use.

My other minor gripe is that the Xbox logo is still on the button whereas the Wii and PS3 versions both utilize symbology from the Tron universe. Maybe it was Microsoft's insistance that the logo be placed there (we all know how lawyers can get), but regardless of the reason, it almost screams "mine! mine!" when it's not really intended to infringe upon Microsoft's rights, really!

Still, it's an awesome controller besides the cord and there are only 20,000 available (each one is numbered). Get them while you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars TRON Controller- FTW!! January 30, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
For a while, i had stopped playing my xbox because i really didn't like the controller vs. the Playstation controller. (which i have always loved) But after receiving this TRON controller from my bf for Christmas; it seems this awesome controller has now rekindled my passion to start playing 360 again. While this may sound corny, i am absolutely serious. Despite a few cons i have, i would say the pros outweigh them. Here is what i think:

Pros:

-Lights up a brilliant blue and feels like a quality controller (unlike some really cheap feeling ones out there)
-feels very comfortable (despite having long fingers, i still think it feels very nice and doesn't make my hands sore)
-The Triggers feel "much much" better and they don't squeak like my other xbox controllers do (which can be an annoyance)
-The bumpers hold up well (I've had other xbox controllers with right bumper problems where the bumper just decided to get stuck and then not register anymore)
-Nice grips on the sides, an added plus
-Works great, no problems yet
-the D pad is much more responsive and just overall feels better (unlike the sloppy D pad on the other controllers)

Cons:

-The first thing i was disappointed in was the analog sticks have shown some premature wear slightly. It felt like the rubber was worn in a few spots. I assume i am just tough on them when i play, but on the other hand I've never had that problem with the normal 1st party xbox controllers i own.

-I was not happy about the headset hook up. I tried to hook up my xbox headset to it and it wouldn't fit in properly. It was a bummer because playing COD is great with this controller, but i couldn't get the headset to fit at all.
