Good but not great,
By Tom Vernon "Tom" (New York, NY, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Controlling-Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) with SAP (Hardcover)
I bought this book as I was doing some consulting work related to CO-PA planning. After reading it through, I have three specific complaints:
1. This book is in serious need of editing. When explaining new concepts and technical details, sentences like "A planning level determines a hierarchy of information that is a general definition of extraction that aggregates or collects specific types of information" are not helpful! 3. Too often, a specific topic is described as being outside the scope of the book. Well, yes, maybe, but in that case, it would have been better to make the book longer and include those topics. Oftentimes, they are very relevant as far as getting a good understanding of CO-PA is concerned. 3. Certain topics are just ignored; working with CO-PA planning, I found it very annoying that for example top-down distribution and segment-specific revalution are simply omitted. As such, I'd consider this book a draft of the definitive CO-PA guide; it's fairly useful, but don't expect to become a CO-PA expert after reading it. |
