stupid people make me laugh,

"defenselessxdependent" is obviously one of those stupid "scene kids" who hates the mere mention of Fall Out Boy or anything mainstream. What a jack-off. Not EVERYONE is a fall out boy fan, you turd, and even if ONE person compares them to fall out boy, who's to say it's not true in their minds? This band actually DOES have a slightly similar sound to FOB, as well as other chi-town acts like spitalfield and the academy is. if that bothers you, then you probably need a hobby, cuz' its not that big of a deal. I'm really getting sick of you wannabes who sit around and rip on a few people who say they like fall out boy. I'll remind everyone that YOU infact were the same people who couldn't stop talking about FOB when "take this to your grave" was hot. And now, because they have a video or two on Mtv, they're not worth listening to? How sad. Besides, I'm sure theAUDITION would LOVE to be compared to falloutboy, as it would help them sell records and become bigger. News flash: no band WANTS to be unknown just for the sake of pleasing a few "scene kids" with no friends and too much time on their hands. "defenselessxdependent", please go kill yourself, and take you're scene friends with you in the process. You completely and thoroughly suck...
As for the record itself, I thought it was pretty good, and further proof that the Chi-town music community is taking over. Having lived in chicago for many years (before moving out to cali), it's nice to see the city finally get the credit it deserves. Most chi acts owe alot to bands like Fall out boy, Lucky boys confusion and swizzle tree for paving the way, and to say they suck now because they got some fame only further proves why you should not be reviewing.

First off, I NEVER EVER review anything for amazon. Even when my favorite record in the entire world (sticks and stones) blew me away in 2003, I was still too lazy to write a review. With theAUDITION though, I just couldn't hold back. "Controversy loves company" is probably the single greatest record I've heard in almost 2 years, and anyone who thinks otherwise has no taste in music. The vocals are AMAZING (think kelly clarkson's range meets patrick stump's unique pitch), and the hooks are out of this world. The production on this record is slamming too, and everything has a "punch in the face" energetic sound.
Here's what I thought of each song: 1. Dancehalls turn to ghost towns . . . (I'm gunna have to say that this song is my second least favorite. Still amazing though 9/10) 2. You've made us consious...(the hottest pop-rock song in 05'. Great guitar intro, awesome vocals a killer hook 10/10) 3. It's too late...(great song, makes you sing along 9/10) 4. Approach the bench...(the vocals really shine here. perfect 10/10) 5. Ultimate cover up...(has an amazing vocal intro and a great chours 10/10) 6. Don't be so hard...(my favorite on the record. Has the most explosive chours I've heard in awhile 10/10) 7. Lawyers...(makes you want to dance 9/10) 8. Rep your clique...(has a weak chorus, but a great instrumental sound 8.5/10) 9. La Rivalita...(great chrous, sounds like da brat' "funkdafied". Really catchy, very good 10/10) 10. Smoke and mirrors...(slowest song on the record, which isn't really that slow. Great vocals and chorus 10/10) Like I said, I never review, but this record is just too amazing. Anyone into bands like The Starting Line, Fall out boy or Houston Calls HAS to get this. Amazing, energetic, this band has it ALL. The Next Big Thing, hands down.

Good Album, not all that original though...,

Nothing ground shattering from theAudition, but it doesn't make it worth any less than 5 stars...
I very rarely like anything that Victory records promotes out, but this is more good music from the Chicago Pop-Punk-Emo-Hardcore scene like Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is..., Victory has definetly placed their stamp on it though, and I do hear some of the TBS sound in the singer's rhythm. The singer's voice has other influences come through too though, on "La Rivalita" he reminds me of Sugarcult in a way, and on other songs he sounds like some of the talented melodic hard rock bands that came out 4/5 years ago. To the people bitch about comparisons - Victory didn't say they sound like half Fall Out Boy and half Taking Back Sunday. I've seen the advertisements for theAudition, and it starts by saying "If you are a fan of..." which is true, if you are a fan of FOB or TBS you probably will like theAudition. I'm no Victory fan, TBS and Atreyu were the only bands I liked before I had heard of theAudition and June, but honestly the things people get pissed off over are rediculous.

this album is amazing. every song stands out and is completely catchy. i have been listening to it nonstop. some stand out tracks are the ultimate coverup, approach the bench and don't be so hard. i would recommend this album to anyone who's into the chicago alt rock scene (i.e. fall out boy, the academy is, spitalfield). definitely the next big thing.

The Audition ~Controversy Loves Company~,
By
This review is from: Controversy Loves Company (Audio CD)
Finally, a pop-punk band that released an entire disc worth of great material aside from one or two singles and three or four other solid tracks. The Audition have put together what I would call a masterpiece of pop-punk if I were prone to using that word to describe pop-punk albums. This disc is so hook filled and sing-along friendly that it's hard to not move your body and bop your head while the songs play. While not sounding exactly like Fall Out Boy, the resemblance is obvious. You will probably like this band if you like Fall Out Boy but I wont guarantee that you will like Fall Out Boy if you like The Audition. The Audition isn't quite as aggressive and fall more in the rock genre then the punk genre of their pop-punk mentality, but there's not a damn thing wrong with that! Highlights: "Approach the Bench" "The Ultimate Cover Up"

okay, i never review anything for amazon. ever. at all. until i bought this cd. every song is awesome. this is not one of those cd's where the two singles sound awesome with the rest of the songs sounding mediocre and bland. every song sounds as powerful as the last. i highly recommend this for anyone/everyone. i can already tell that theaudition is going to be the next "it" band.

Awesome album.,
This review is from: Controversy Loves Company (Audio CD)
This is a great album. The lyrics were well written... very thought-through. I'll go through each song.
1. Dance Halls: Awesome intro song! It tells a story of Dr. Jekyll seducing some anonymous assistant. I love the guitar and the lead singers vocals are amazing. 8/10. 2. You've Made Us Conscious: Oh oh oh! What a hot song! Every time I hear this song, I like his voice a little more. 8/10. 3. It's Too Late: One of my favorite songs on the album! I love the story that it lays out; about sailing on the ocean and being washed away. I love the end of the bridge, with the voice synth. I just think it's cool. 9/10. 4. Approach The Bench: Pretty good guitar skills here. A little weak on lyrics, but overall pretty good. I don't understand how he can stand to force his voice out like he does, sometimes, with that huffy noise that makes it sound just that much cooler. 7/10. 5. Ultimate Cover Up: Much stronger lyrics from the previous song. It's just alright, though. 7/10. 6. Don't Be So Hard: A little slow down. Not one of my favorite songs, but it's still alright. 6/10. 7. Lawyers: Interesting thing to write about. It's a nice tempo change from the previous song; it gets your blood pumping. Good guitar, a little weak on the lyrics. 7/10. 8. Rep Your Clique: Cute song. Kinda weak lyrics-wise, but good in music and vocal harmony. 7/10. 9. Rivalita: This is a good song. Lyrics are great, guitar is great... just overall great! 9/10. 10. Smoke and Mirrors: Personally my least favorite song. I can't even really listen to it all the way through. It bores me. Not a good ending for such an awesome album. 4/10. Overall, this is a promising album for such a new band. I know I can't wait for a new release!

The Audition is a great band. They do not sound just like fall out boy. i happen to not like fall out boy and i love this band. they are alot heavier at times than both The Academy Is... and Fall Out Boy. I'm a huge fan of TAI and i would most definately say something if this band was a copycat. this band isnt, they are actually a really good band, all the songs have their catchy moments and some of the instrumentation is great for this genre's standards. i had the pleasure to see then live last week and it was a great show. these guys have something good going for them, i recommend this album.

SO, I'm not a kid. I'm actually 17, but I never spend time on amazon, so you get the point. Anyway, I really hate most new music these days. It all sounds the same. Nobody ever catches my attention anymore, and of all the so-called "AmAzInG" bands that rule the scene, 90% of them don't impress me. ANYWAY, I really REALLY liked "controversy loves company" by the audition. I wouldn't have even known about this band had it not been for a friend, and now, I'm telling everyone I know! The last modern CD I ever actually got the urge to buy was Green Day's "warning", and that was like 5 years ago! Trust me, the audition are worth knowing about. Even if you hate most new music, "controversy loves company" is a must have. You'll be playing it until the plastic chips, and that's no lie!
