I purchased this book, along with many others, searching for an understandable explanation of the roots of this great controversy. I found it very easy to understand. Dr. Chittick's arguments are excellent, but of course since I am Christian, I realize many of you out there don't want to hear this message. It is a good book for an open, honestly searching mind. If you are looking for a book to reinforce your evolutionary mind-set, skip this book. It will just annoy you! If you enjoy this book, you might want to check out another of his books, The Puzzle of Ancient Man. It is awesome! Also, there is a series of tapes he did called Science and Creation, which tackles the subject in-depth. I found the book and lecture series fascinating and enlightening.
