We just received this product today, and I was able to set it up easily by myself. It looks very nice and isn't very heavy or too big to move around after putting it together. The shelves are a wood painted a shiny black. The poles are made of metal. There is a sort of cable tie that you have to attach yourself at the base of the lower pole and screw into the wall with a provided hook. We're not going to use it. I don't usually give out 5 stars but so far I can't find anything really wrong with this product. If anything changes, I'll make note of that later, but so far it looks very sturdy.

EDIT: One year later and it still works well!

The shelves are made of black-colored particleboard. According to the shipping box, the unit complies with CARB Phase 1 formaldehyde emissions standards in CCR 93120.0 (a). I did not notice any odor emanating from the shelves.

WHAT I LIKED
Unpacking to final assembly took about 15 minutes. The instruction booklet was in English and included diagrams. Unpacking the stand probably took longer than the actual assembly of the unit. This was the easiest assembly of ready-to-assemble furniture I have ever constructed.

The stand is stable and looks nice for ready-to-assemble furniture.

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE
The biggest negative of the stand's design is the placement of the metal posts. I prefer to place electronics side by side rather than to stack them to better allow heat to dissipate.

Although the bottom shelf is 42 inches wide, there is not not enough useable space to place components, like an audio/video receiver and an DVR, side by side because the distance between the front post and the rear post is only 11 inches. My DVR and receiver are both wider than 11". The distance between left front post and the right front post is 26 inches and there was enough clearance to allow me to stack my DVR and receiver. This is not the best way to place the electronic equipment.

One of the metal posts had adhesive on it that I could not completely remove.

The posts have metal that wraps around the post. There is a seam where the two ends of the metal meet. After screwing the posts into the boards, some of the posts' seams were facing forward and visible from the front of the unit. From several feet back the seams are not very noticeable (actually need to be looking for them to see them) but I would think the unit would have been designed to have the seams face toward the back of the unit.

Wires from the electronics are clearly visible.

Pretty straightforward and easy to assemble.
It's steady for my 40" Sony LCD TV(it'll fit 42" max) and I couldn't find any cheaper/simple LCD TV stand than this one.Only draw back is there is no central cable tie.

I bought this after reading all the reviews, and for the price that I paid, it's a great product and beats everything they sell at Walmart. Yes it doesn't have an extended bracket for your TV to be mounted on, so what? I love to have a proper stand for my TV and it works well. The wooden planks are solid and tough, they are really heavy so you'd need a dolly to move the boxes. But once everything is out, it's easy as following the steps to install the whole thing. It didn't take me longer than an hour to assemble the whole thing alone as the instructions are well laid out and once it's done it looks classy and very sturdy! I put my 42" Plasma on it, my PlayStation, my wife's Wii and the Wii Board at the bottom, and some games. I don't have an extensive amount of home-theater system so I've got enough room for what I need.
For all that you're getting and at this price, it's really hard to beat. I highly recommend it for 1-2 room apartment.

It's a 3 shelves TV stand but I assembled up to to 2 shelves (meaning your middle shelf is my top shelf) mainly because it becomes too high with 40" TV for my small place. Assembly was easy and I got it with free shipping through prime. So, it's a great buy.

The TV stand is extremely sturdy and of good quality, especially for the price. It also does not look cheap. I am able to fit my 40" TV along with a cable box and DVD player on it, and the design is amazing. Assembly took 15 minutes or less. More than I could ask for in terms of an affordable TV stand, and I am very happy with this purchase.

First off let me say how impressed I was at the speed of delivery. I purchased this on a Sunday night and even with choosing just standard delivery it was at my house when I got home from work on Tuesday. The set-up was extremely easy, just unpack the thing, look at the very simple diagram and start putting it together. Pretty simple. The stand looks great and I haven't had a single problem with it. It's very sturdy and hasn't made so much as even a creak since I set it up and put my tv on top.

I was a little weary about this stand, given its low price and all. When it arrived my fears got worse because the box was very thin, i guess thats because i have little experience in buying stands but i was wrong! It was extremely easy to put together, has a very beautiful black finish and is really sturdy for so little components. I purchased a 42' led lcd hd vizio tv and it holds it more then perfect. Im highly satisfied for what i needed it for i recommend this to anyone looking for a simple cheap tv stand and don't want to deal with the hastle of a giant instruction manual and lots of bolts and screws.

This is the second time I've bought this TV Stand. The first one was smaller, as was the TV. Unlike other TV stands I've owned in the past, this one doesn't weigh a ton. Yet it's plenty sturdy enough for my 40-inch LCD TV. I love the style--it doesn't take over the room, like some massive cheap-looking TV stands do. Assembly couldn't be easier. No tools required.

Very easy to put together; took less than 15 minutes. Sturdy, well-built, and looks great. Nice item for the price
