The Convenient Arrangement, conveniently slid into my heart!,
This review is from: The Convenient Arrangement (Zebra Regency Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Valeria's life is complicated - a nephew she's inherited, her newly impoverished state . . . and the her biggest complication is her "guardian." Lorenzo likes his life quiet and uncomplicated, but Valeria and her nephew have put an end to his quiet days. To remedy the situation, he sets out to find her a new husband . . . and chances are he won't have to look far! A wonderful regency romp, full of humor, and treasures of the heart.

Worst female character I can remember,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Convenient Arrangement (Zebra Regency Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I looked forward to Lorenzo's story, after reading the Phantom Affair, which was a wonderful book. But I can't even keep reading this one. This Valeria person irritates me so much (and her nephew) that I just HOPE Lorenzo doesn't wind up with her. Every time she wants to have a party (in someone elses home, who likes solitude) I just want to scream, and set the book aside. I'm going to quit reading and make up my own ending, where she and her obnoxious nephew get packed off to the village dandy, and she can have parties to her hearts content. Then, I'll invent the kind of woman Lorenzo deserves. This book is AWFUL. Save your money.

Irritating female makes reading nearly impossible,
This review is from: The Convenient Arrangement (Zebra Regency Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I generally buy books that have a 4 star or higher rating on Amazon. I like Jo Ann Ferguson so thought I'd give this a book a try but I find the main female character so irritating, I won't be finishing the book. This character just doesn't seem to have a clue about good, selfless, grateful behavior. I can take the child who shows the effects of negligent parenting - although he wouldn't last long in my home - but the adult romantic lead who is his aunt has been written as a brazen, unsympathetic character. It's enough that this book doesn't stay within the proscribed Regency format - male and female calling each other by their first names right off the bat but everything about this book strikes a discordant note.
