Do you wish to get more return on your investment when attending conferences?
This book really provides a wealth of tips that in my opinion are valuable even to experienced professionals. It is written with the intention of making it easy for readers; it isn't long so you don't need much time to invest on reading it.
The format as an e-book is ideal, adding notes and highlighting becomes very useful here, so you can review Jim's wisdom before you go to the next conference.
This book is not a guide on how to organize events, it is a guide on how to participate on events effectively.
If you are the one deciding who goes to which conference within your Organization, ask your team to read the book before going anywhere. Their experience will be better and think about the ROI.

I'm an experienced conference speaker and attendee but still got value from this great little ebook.

Some great tips, especially for the novice or less experienced delegate, I particularly like the advice about tacking on sightseeing days and involving family wherever possible.

So many of my trips have been airport-taxi-hotel-conference centre-taxi-airport but I now always make time for some sightseeing, makes the time away all the more valuable.

I also can't agree more with the idea of networking. I probably get more value out of conferences and the like from networking with the other delegates than I do from attending many of the schedule sessions and workshops. As a consultant, you can make valuable "noise" at every turn.

Great ebook and a must read for newbie and experienced conference goers alike.

This book is for anyone who is attending or plans to attend a conference or a convention or in general a networking event for that matter. I am an introvert by nature and I find it hard when I bump into a completely new set of people. The professional networking aspects Jim Bob touched upon are very useful. I have been to several conferences and organized a set of small events myself. After reading this book, I realized how much I need to practice (the tips) to make my participation even more effective.

Great work and very useful to anyone who wants to make full use of networking events, conferences, and conventions.

Those who have traveled to represent organizations at conferences know how expensive and time-consuming it normally is. Because of that, every second is precious and valuable. This eBook can be read quickly (i.e. 10 minutes) and provides some great ideas to help make the most of the experience, both personally and professionally.

If you are new to the whole trade show/convention scene, you've got to read this book. It offers great tips for getting plugged in to the "community" of conventions. It can be overwhelming to walk into a homeschool convention or any convention really. You feel lost in a sea of people who seem to know more about the industry than you do. This book can help you be one step ahead of everyone else. It gives great ideas for how to meet people, make friends, make business connections, and sell your products. It's a quick read stuffed full of helpful information.

A great no-nonsense guide on how to make the most out of conferences and trade shows as an attendee. Jim Bob Howard does a great job of giving very useful tips that will help even the most awkward social person network more effectively. A very quick read that is packed full of fantastic advice. The size is perfect for reviewing on your way to your event as a checklist.

What struck me was the straight to the point, no fluff, brevity of this guide. I liked that, I got the points I needed in a very consise, quick fashion without the usual flood of fluff that I find in a lot of other writers. Jim Bob has a very to the point aproach in his writings that doesn't waste the readers time and that makes his works a pleasure to read. Other writers would have probably produced something the size of War and Peace that was about as exciting as reading the Tax Code, this, I read end to end during a coffee break. I usually highlight the key points and looking back, I think there was only about three sentences that were not highlighted.

If you go to trade shows, conferences or even things like user groups or social events, this is a must read.
