This book proved to be an excellent introduction to IP Telephony for bell-heads. The book provides a foundation for more in depth learning (e.g. standards groups).

As a second book, I'd recommend Carrier Grade Voice Over IP by Collins.

IT BLEW ME AWAY. I find most technical writing dry and boring but this really was a PAGE TURNER!!! This is a MUST READ for anybody working with voice and data network convergence. This new and fresh perspective of an industry expert does wonders to this often confused subject. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS BOOK!
