David Lanz's and David Arkenstone's "Convergence" is truly a remarkable piece of music. What is so great is that it is very diverse, meaning there are a variety of songs with different styles to listen to, but at the same time they all go together. I do not know how these two musical geniuses made an album as such, but it is truly awesome. "The Dragon's Daughter" is such an awesome song. Paul Speer, a guitar extraordinaire, collaborates with David Lanz on this song. The guitar and piano together on this song makes it one of the driving forces in this CD. "The Cello's Song" by David Arkenstone, is an amazing, serious, and beautiful song. The cello sounds absolutely amazing. It is the Cello's song. "Madre de la Tierra" by David Lanz is one of my all time favorite David Lanz songs. This song opens the CD and it is David on the piano with an entire orchestra to back him up. This song is a masterpiece and is one of the prettiest and most moving songs any person will come across these days. Way to go David Lanz and David Arkenstone! If you love music, I know you will love "Convergence"!

I bought this for the Arkenstone cuts, and at first listen was underwhelmed by Lanz (piano often bores me) as represented by "Madre de la Tierra" and "Madrona," but his "Oaks" is my favorite cut on the entire album, probably because of its solid medieval dance base: a beautiful interplay of the three instruments. Arkenstone's "The Cello's Song" is lushly romantic (I like Russian composers like Prokoviev and Ravell), as is "Love on the Beach." Everything here is solidly good, some superb; my ear just has its own prejudices, which you may share. Definitely worth a listen.

This cd is recommended as a nice sampling of the works of 2 of the leading new age artists. It has a good variety of tracks. Arkenstone uses more synthesizers and crescendos, while Lanz is predominantly piano, with orchestration, and more laid back. The cello piece is unbelievable!!! Try it - you may get hooked!

I have been a fan of David Lanz for many, many years and my old CD got scratched so I was pleased to be able to find a good quality used one.

Now who would think an album named "Convergence" was actually a mediocre mini collection of songs from two individual artists on one disc? The misleading title made me think that perhaps the two artists had sat down together, conspired and performed each song together which would have made for a very unique combining of energies and talents. Each artist is a five star musician and David is a five star personal friend of mine but it easy to see that the Narada big wigs had their hand in this pot and while most of the songs are five stars, the overall effect is anti-climatic so I can only give it four stars. The songs Narada chose to place on this CD are not even the best works from each artist but being the true Lanz / Arkenstone fan that I am, I had to add the CD to my collection even though I own all the CDs these songs came from. Even if I was misled by the title, the music is nonetheless just as great if you don't mind having sort of a half of a "almost best of" collection from two artists.

I was really disappointed with this album, infact, I would really like to send it back and get something different if I could. While it was playing my husband said, "What in the world do you have playing on the stereo, groan.......
