Book Description

January 1, 2003
Broadband and wireless communications are here to stay and innovations in digital bandwidth and hardware have created a convergence of mediums that is changing the way we watch television, use the telephone and drive our cars. As these new mediums grow, so will the need for designers and design firms skilled in creating user experiences as big as a home theatre screen or as small as the face of a watch. This book focuses on graphic design for the full range of new media platforms, and showcases groundbreaking work from international designers in these arenas. Categories covered include interactive television, broadband computing and wireless devices and the text addresses the specific challenges of, and ideas for, designing each platform. It includes navigation schemes, icon systems, wireless games and interactive television menus.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great ITV examples, March 12, 2003
This review is from: Convergence Design: Creating the User Experience for Interactive Television, Wireless, and Broadband (Hardcover)
The book has excellent examples of concepts for interactive television- and some pretty cool work from broadband design companies like Heavy and Artifact. I wish there were more example of wireless projects. Overall- a good balance of visual examples and project details for inspiration.
