More About the Author

Anne Gentle is a technical writer, blogger, and author of the book, Conversation and Community: The Social Web for Documentation, now in its second edition. She works at Rackspace as the OpenStack Technical Writer, bringing open documentation to the open source cloud. She also volunteers as a documentation maintainer for FLOSS Manuals, working on open documentation for open source. She has written blog entries as a technical writer since 2005. She has acquired many interests in that time, including structured authoring, social media, XML models for technical documentation such as DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture), blogging, wikis, collaborative documentation, online user assistance, and writing in an Agile development environment. As the mom of two young boys, she loves to be busy while upholding the value of an Agile principle of individuals and interactions (and sometimes refereeing battles over toys).
