This book is out of print, so when I bought it I was ready to accept some aging, or wear. I was shocked that it was in such great condition.
Ivo Andric is a brilliant writer and nobel prize winner. I highly recommend reading his work if you can get your hands on an English translation of it. I paid more than I usually would for a book, $60 for this particular used paperback, but I am so very glad I did. It's worth the money to add his work to your collection. Conversation with Goya is just part of this book. The rest is excerpts from his personal notebooks and journals. His observations of life, art, and people are simply brilliant. There is also a brief history on the writer's life in the introduction and great care was taken to translate this from Bosnian to English (something Andric was not a big fan of) so that's important. Highly recommend this book! |
