This review is from: Conversational Hypnosis: A Manual of Indirect Suggestion (Paperback)
At first blush, this simply reproduced, spiral-bound book probably won't knock you off your feet. It is, however, a practical manual on how to use indirect (Ericksonian) language in hypnotherapy. With a little imagination and work, a user can find all sorts of applications in sales and business communcations and all sorts of persuasive and entertaining communcations.
IF the reader actually practices and experiments with the concepts in this book, he/she will be much more effective and artful in using language in general and the use of indirect language specifically. This is not a "hypnosis how-to," I recommend it for novice hypnotists and anyone intersted in communicating more artfully.

Valuable reading....,
This review is from: Conversational Hypnosis: A Manual of Indirect Suggestion (Paperback)
Despite the cheaply produced printing and binding, this book is a real find. Well written with many worked examples, it is a fascinating read if you have any interest in hypnosis, hypnotherapy...or even salesmanship! It is almost disturbing to realise how much we are all influenced by the power and structure of language, but it is easy to see from this text how such indirect suggestions can produce massive behavioural changes in others whilst under hypnosis. Definitely a skill worth developing and definitely a book worth reading. Good value too.

If you're new to Ericksonian hypnosis ...,

Hypnotic language patterns are delightful to read and practice. If you're already familiar with Ericksonian hypnosis and hypnotic language patterns than you're not likely to find anything new in this book. However, if you're a practicing hypnotist or hypnotherapist and you've only learned direct language patterns, this spiral-bound book can serve as an easy-to-read introduction to hypnotic language patterns. Learning indirect / conversational hyponsis can help you to greatly improve the success rate of your hypnosis sessions.

At first I thought "What the hell did I pay for?" As I quickly read through this book I felt I was "taken". I was about to post a very negative review but decided to read it again. On my second reading I took the time to actually stop to study the phrases, look at and learn the importance of where and what word is emphasized as well as other valuable information. It is an amazing little book.

Easy to use practical guide to using the language wisely.,

A booklet more than a book (84 pp), yet very informational and valuable.
It is not intended to give an overview or introduction to Ericksonian hypnotic language, but rather to assist you in practicing the use of this language for your needs. Milton Erickson is a psychotherapist who was mainly known for its effective use of careful wording to help the messages get through the filters of the conscious mind to the unconscious mind. Very well planned, highly recommended for those interested in practicing Ericksonian methods.

What I liked is this book teaches meat to feed your hunger. If you want to learn short cuts to hypnotic speech this book is definitely for you. Only thing I disliked is it is geared for sales. It overlooks the everyday conversation. With a little insight most people with good articulation can learn how to use these techniques in most situations. Well worth the money and time.

Easy artful presentation of complex indirect conversation concepts...,

Think you're familiar with hypnotic language patterns, Ericksonian hypnosis, direct and indired conversation styles? This practical manual shows how, with some effort and imagination, you can apply this to all sorts of personal and business communications. If the reader practices the skills taught here, a real value will be gained. It also offers excellent scripts with a nice template to create your own scripts. Compared to other books which cover this subniche, this has to be one of the most thoughtful and simply presented.
Wish it was priced lower so more people would read it though.

Despite the most simple look, this manual is nicely structured and quite comprehensive when it comes to using conversational hypnosis on day to day basis. Too bad there is no equivalent to this work in French.

I've been taking a few courses on NLP and Hypnosis and read several descriptions of the Milton Erichsons speech but found this one to be the easiest for new students to digest. It's short and to the point. I would recommend any one studying the subject to pick it up or for course instructors to use it as a text.

The writing is easy to understand and example driven. This is a great book for anyone but I found it very good for selling products and services.
