1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry I bought this book
I had to put 1 star because there is no -10 stars that I could put. This book is not what I expected, I'm wondering if this is a joke book instead of something that is supposed to be taken seriously. I am sorry I spent my time and money purchasing this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tao of Dog, February 2, 2001
This review is from: Conversations with Dog: An Uncommon Dogalog of Canine Wisdom (Paperback)
This is a sweet book! The wisdom, love, and gentle guidance of the canine species (and the special touch of author and animal communicator Kate Solisti-Mattelon) will amaze and enlighten you. I laughed, cried, and was challenged to try to deeply understand these marvelous beings who have graciously chosen to throw their lot in with the human race. The questions are from real people, and the answers are from the heart and soul of dog. And they make so much sense! In "Conversations," dog provides answers from the mundane (Does it feel good to wag your tail?), to the practical (What is the easiest way to train you?), to the metaphysical (Where do you go when you die?). Here you'll find everything you ever wondered about dogs, and more than a few things you never even thought to ask. Now I look at my own dog with renewed respect, and find that our relationship is growing more special every day. Thanks, Kate, for reminding me who he really is, and helping me appreciate the great gift of love he brings to my life. No doubt about it, anyone who's ever been owned by a dog is guaranteed to love this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars we speak bow wow, January 7, 2001
This review is from: Conversations with Dog: An Uncommon Dogalog of Canine Wisdom (Paperback)
Equipped with a keen intuition, great confidence, and credentials stacked sky high, Kate Solisti - Mattelon steps up and ably swats one home for the dog lover in us all. She has long understood that dogs run the wide and crooked. It's we humans who took the broad view and tried to fit it into the straight and narrow scope of understanding. An awkward fit at best, if not totally improbable. She presents her material simply, in a parable format of sorts to help us understand the heart and mind of man's best friend. Repeated readings pay off. Myself, having to resolve grief issues on having to put my thirteen years old Siberian Husky, Riva to sleep this past summer. I now know without doubt that my favorite life companion is a part of me forever. This book can and should be a part of you. Highly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!!- Now have the answers straight from the source, December 15, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Conversations with Dog: An Uncommon Dogalog of Canine Wisdom (Paperback)
I am about to buy 10 for family and friends for Christmas. Every dog lover should have a copy. The questions are questions that we all want to know about and the answers are well written and short.

After I read it--I was going to contact the author about doing Conversations with Cat and Horse. Then I read the back cover and it is in the works! I am very excited to hear what our Cats and Horses feel.

Wonderful book.

Just finished reading this book and found it to be a teriffic guide to a better life. I now understand my own canine friend much better and relize that some of those thoughts that appear from nowhere are in fact coming from him. I look forward to more books from Kate and the animal kingdom.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for dog owners/trainers, December 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Conversations with Dog: An Uncommon Dogalog of Canine Wisdom (Paperback)
Kate Solisti-Mattelon is one of our most accomplished animal communicators. Her new book "Conversations with Dog" is one in a series of excellent publications on animal-human interaction. It is a must for any dog owner and/or trainer who wants a new understanding of mental awareness in the canine species. The book is based on the author's own questions to "Dog" on a variety of subjects (relating to human-dog interactions), and "Dog's" answers. The first chapter explores why we humans might want to use animals as our teachers and helpers. The second chapter defines the mission of "Dog" and the third chapter is the question and answer section. In general I found the book to be an extremely interesting collection of insights into the dog/human relationship.

I have given at least 20 copies of this book to friends, family and strangers that love animals or want to understand them better. I read it over and over again which helped me when I lost two of my dogs last year 5 months apart. I know they are no in pain and they were with me during a time I needed them. Thank you for a wonderful book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dog Whisperer 101, May 5, 2005
I think this is a great book in learning how to understand how your dog thinks. Imagine sitting down and having a conversation with your special companion; what would you ask him or her? This book gives the basics on what those human questions and canine answers might be. It goes beyond that theorizing that if we learn to treat our dog friends right the lessons will expand to relationships with people.
I plan on reading it again and also visiting the website:www.AKinshipwithAnimals.com.
Short and invaluable to all dog owners.

For anyone who loves dogs, or any animal lover for that matter, this book is a must read. It speaks from the heart and soul of a dog and gives one insight into their perspectives on life and how we, as humans, should acknowledge and respect them for who they are and why they are here. It is one of those books that you will keep on your shelf and refer to from time to time. A real keeper. Every time you read the book, something different jumps out at you. Very profound reading.
