Book Description

Women/Inspirational July 17, 2001
Every woman needs a place where she can talk about whatever’s on her mind–from hairdos to friendships, lost rings to love…diapers to grace. In Conversations at the Girlville Diner, authors Kim Bolton and Chris Wave take readers to such a place: the neighborly, nothing-fancy Girlville Diner, where girlfriends gather round, and God, the head Cook, serves up daily specials of life and love. Written as a collection of friendly essays, Conversations at the Girlville Diner serves up page after page of welcome reminders concerning God’s presence in a woman’s everyday life. From the general struggles of life and love to the particular demands of motherhood, readers will see how Kim and Chris learned to recognize God’s trademark touch, and will learn to do so in their own lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful!, November 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Conversations at the Girlville Diner: Finding God in the Hairdos and the Hashbrowns (Women/Inspirational) (Paperback)
I loved this book! Why? It made me laugh and cry, but most of all, it made me smile. It made me smile at myself, at my own life with kids/husband and it made me smile at God. This book reminds us that "God IS in the Small Stuff" in our lives and no matter what, He's there to help us through it. If you've read the other book I just mentioned, you'll like this book, because it's even funnier! As a bookstore owner, I read a lot of books. This is a great read. It makes me want to have coffee at the "Girlville Diner" and get to know these girls! Hey, maybe they'll start their own chat room and give ivillage.com some company! Give this book to your sister for Christmas and watch her smile! Go girls!

5.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT visit Girlville Diner if:, February 6, 2000
This review is from: Conversations at the Girlville Diner: Finding God in the Hairdos and the Hashbrowns (Women/Inspirational) (Paperback)
1) You have no sense of humor, 2) You cannot look life in the face and enjoy the wrinkles, 3) You can only tolerate flawless relationships and perfect kids, 4) You live in a museum and ride in a stretch limo.

This Diner serves up a gourmet menu of spicy humor, faces without makeup, angels without wings, all served on a beautifully arranged paper plate. On second thought, DO visit Girlville Diner. Whatever ailed you before this meal will surely be cured by the time you finish it.

This is a winner! Need a good laugh? Need a good cry! With great wit and warmth these gals share stories from their lives that will entertain you, encourage you and challenge you. I enjoyed this book so much that I am arming myself with several copies to pass to other women. Women of all ages will be inspired as they see how our everyday obstacles and bumps can bring us closer to a very BIG God. Give me more Chris Wave and Kim Bolton!
