5.0 out of 5 stars A life-changing experience!
Having read CWG book 1 three times and book 2 once, I spent the last nine months "walking the talk" by reading and putting into my experience the worksheets and assignments from the CWG guidebook. 2.0 out of 5 stars Conversations w/ God Guidebook
We did this as a book study at my church. It brought forth good debate but I do not recommend the series.

This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
Having read CWG book 1 three times and book 2 once, I spent the last nine months "walking the talk" by reading and putting into my experience the worksheets and assignments from the CWG guidebook. The effects this has had on my life have been very profound and life-changing. Reading material is one thing; believing is another; experiencing is what life is all about. I would recommend reading CWG book 1 through once before attempting the guidebook, only because there is such a wealth of information, one time through isn't enough. I cannot recommend the guidebook highly enough...to anyone ready and willing to begin experiencing the life we all truly desire. This isn't about religion, as such, at least not in a traditional or fundamentalist way. This is about the journey of life we all take, the tools that are there before us if we will only awaken our awareness long enough to see and use them. Do this guidebook and get ready for the life you always knew you desired to reveal itself. It may be a roller coaster ride for you, thrilling and exciting to say the least. In the end you will exclaim "Wow!"...let's do that again.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Seek and ye shall find...Ask and it shall be given...Wow!!", December 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
Imagine...a true and personal conversation with God sans the conventional mediums we've come to associate with communicating with God (organized religions, faiths, etc.) The contents were and are "life giving" and cosmically refreshing!! I've read the first two books and am now on page 160+ of the current and final volume (#III)...I've studied in formal theologian settings, taught and have ministered the Word of God...but never have I been so "inspired" about my relationship with God, than by the dialogue dipicted in these journals!! I am excited about life and ALL that it may yield...good and/or bad. When I lost my 9 year old son to brain cancer a year ago...I thought that ALL of my faith, religious studying, prayers and ecumenical affiliations would more than "secure" my son's recovery and healing from cancer...not so. Death had the final say and I was mentally and spiritually "mortified". Of course, MANY questions were poised toward the heavens for resolution to my disillusionment and loss. I QUIETLY PRAYED from WITHIN for ANSWERS to our son's struggle and ultimate "death". God DID respond to ALL MY SECRET inquiries in these journals. I thank God for His discourse with Neale, it was contemporary, it was relevant, it was personal, it was direct and relational...I couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you God for continuing to REVEAL YOURSELF TO MANKIND IN WHATEVER FASHION THAT EXPOSES YOUR WILL...WHICH IS TO LOVE US UNTO THE REALIZATION OF WHOSE AND WHO WE ARE. Jesus NEVER preached "institutional traditionalism" or "religion", he ONLY related to us ABOUT his relationship with God and how WE TOO CAN HAVE THE SAME. Jesus was the living MODEL & EXPRESSION of GOD'S Love...all we need do is follow the message of LOVE. Now the "sting" of death is truly hallow. Yes, I still miss my son, but now I can honor his passing as a triumph of the creative power of God, instead of a failing tragedy wrought on at the hands of a disease. I would highly recommend this material for ANYONE who is SERIOUS about "being" all that God has purposed for our lives...I'll read it 20 years from now and it's content & context will be quite RELEVANT! A definite MUST READ for ALL mankind...

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BOOKS......makes alot os sense!, June 18, 1999
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
These books are excellent...whether or not they are really conversations with God or not, they explain so much about how our universe works in a way that actually makes sense! I feel this is a more accurate view of what our forgiving, loving God is really like; not an enitity to be feared as conventional religion would have us believe!

5.0 out of 5 stars The CWG Books 1 & 2 are like "found gold!", October 31, 1998
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
These books Conversations With God (I have purchased and read books 1 & 2 - several times) gave me the greatest joy, and not a little entertainment, and I have just ordered Book 3. Mr. Walsch is indeed a messenger and I plan on joining him as another messenger, with God's help and direction. The world is in frightful shape and we need many people all over the world to join in changing the "group consciousness" which in rather poor condition right now. I have read all the comments which are posted here, and I extend my sympathy and love to those who are unable, or unwilling to take these books as intended. God said to Neale, that these books are NOT INTENDED to be "Gospel"; their purpose is to MAKE US THINK! To "take us to the edge." I am reminded of a thing I saw recently: "The mind is like a parachute, it functions when open." I thank Mr. Walsch for having the courage to present these books, and I thank God for inspiring him to do so. Hollis J. Marsh, Ft. Myers, FL, USA

5.0 out of 5 stars Open Your Mind, August 15, 2005
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
If you scan through these ratings, you will probably notice that most of the 1 star ratings come from Christians who call this book Satanic or whatever, despite the fact that it's basically preaching love for all. To those that are Christian and don't want to read it because of the Christian reviews, I suggest opening your mind. Although some of the things the author says contradicts the Bible, many things agree, and it's refreshing to see a new perspective, whether or not you believe the author's story.
I like many of the author's (or possibly God's) points. I learned a few things, was emotionally touched in some parts, and the book kept me entertained. That, to me, gives this book 5 stars. SATAN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS BOOK.
I urge you hardcore belief people (no matter what religion) to open your mind and eyes... see something new for a change.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help from Above a Prayer is Answered, May 21, 2005
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
I heard Neale Donald Walsch being interviewed on the Coast to CoastAM program with George Noory. I not only listened to his story, but his voice was like Velvet & all of the Messages he was saying, I knew in my Heart were True. I bought & spent the month of May reading all of his Books. The Conversation with God series were a bit Redundant. The best of his Book was
"Friendship with God" I read & re-read this book, highlighting & making notes as though it was a textbook.

After I had read them all, I had so many questions of my own. This is a Dangerous Book, because it can Liberate us from the Fears of Failure we have in our Daily Lives. My questions, I've decided to take personally to God. Now, that I understand I am worthy of a Friendship with Him.

A MUST READING for anyone searching to Evolve their Souls. The sense of Peace & Joy the book leaves you with NO Words can describe, but if "Feelings" could describe it. It's like being held Safe in a Mother's Arms. The Book empowers You NEVER again "TO FEEL AFRAID". Julia Leigh Rosenthal

5.0 out of 5 stars The most practical of the Conversations With God series, August 8, 2001
By
Tim Burness (Brighton, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
Having read all the excellent CWG books several times over, this remains one of my favourites, along with "Friendship With God" and the original "Conversations With God Book 1" itself. They all essentially say the same stuff of course, but in different ways that will appeal more to some than others in each case. In this guidebook, countless examples of everyday difficulties we all experience as human beings are specifically and clearly dealt with. Do you have a resistance to eating spinach? What do you most often think about world hunger? What is the purpose of life? Brilliant!

The text revolves around the 34 core concepts of Book 1 which Walsch defines in the introduction. These range from "God is communicating with us all the time" to "You need no God" to "To want something is to push it away from you" and so on. Each of the concepts are subsequently expanded on together with text references from the original book. What makes everything really interesting are the exercises, assignments and experiments scattered throughout the book and at the end of each section. Not only are these totally practical applications of Walsch/God's wisdom, some of them are also very funny. These are suggested as possible guidelines for CWG study groups.

The presentation of the material is quite different to all the main books. Visually, the text is broken up by the original text references, exercises, questions and suggestions for further discussion. Its easier to dip into now and again as a result.

5.0 out of 5 stars What IF, August 29, 2006
By
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
It seems to me that the people who have given this book a less than desireable review are the ones who are steeped heavily into the brainwashed religious diatribes of what religions have been pushing down their throats as the truth. What they forget is that the bible was written and re written and edited so many times over and over, that one can only believe that the end result is nothing more than what those religions want you to believe....which of course is for their own agenda.

After being a student of many books along these lines, it only comes to say that these people are "young souls" and are NOT ready for the next step. So you can only go by what they say, with that in mind. Eventually in some life time they will awaken.

This book is one of the best ones I have read, other than Sheppard Hoodwin's "The Journey of Your Soul." These two books together answer and explain any question that you may ever have. I belong to no organized religion, nor ever will be as I find that the "rules" that have been made up in them are just not believable at all.

Open your mind and really look inside these books. You will find a wealth of information beyond anything that you could ever hope for. A world so totally amazing it will boggle your mind.

This book answers most of the questions that you have had rolling around in your head your whole life. You know, those questions you've had since those days of Sunday School or Temple School... It doesn't matter what religion you are. God is God. Get this book, learn it, live it, love it, practice it! You will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hindu girl found this book to be brilliant!!, January 25, 2006
By
This review is from: Conversations with God, Book 1 Guidebook: An Uncommon Dialogue (Paperback)
What can I say about this book, WOW!! it really is a must read for all, I have read books 1 and 2 and am now on book3 I am Hindu by birth and naturally have not followed a Christian path but I do believe that all beliefs are very similar and there is one creator-one god for everyone. That is how I was bought up. I was never bought up to believe in Satan God created everything and as he says in his book 1 why would he create Satan? There is no hell, there is no judgment. This book is not for people who have only one vision and can only relate to what they have been taught. This book is for people who have expanded views on life and are looking to find there way to there soul/God and there is nothing in this book that would change a person for the worst it can only change a person for the better or not at all, so I guess you have nothing to loose. There is much to absorb from book 1 and books 2&3 and they may need to be read many times. I find pleasure in reading them over and over. They truly fascinate me.
No one recommended this book to me I just stumbled upon the book at my temple, whilst looking for a different book. The name of the book intrigued me and the back of the book drew me in! From the time I bought the book I do not want to put it down. I am grateful that I found it; it has been enlightening for me! This is a book of substance and everyone can draw their own conclusions but for me I believe they are the words from God! And I am the biggest skeptic!
