To begin,I am a christian, and love the lord with all my heart and try to listen to him when he speaks to my heart.I am also a great fan of Elvis Presley and have been since I was a child.I always knew that there was something special about Elvis other than he was the greatest entertainer there ever has been, but when he sang gospel, you could hear his heart in every word he sang. This book written by David Stanley is far the best book about Elvis I have ever read.(and I have read many)David goes beyond the entertainer and shows us the real person Elvis was and his desire to serve God and the Devils hold on him.I am learning to listen and apply Gods word to my every day life and I thank David for this book and the steps he gives to a closer walk with God.I also appreciate the questions at the end of each chapter, that has made me really search my heart and soul for the reason God put me where I am today.Thank you David from the bottom of my heart,I will cherish this book and read it over and over again until I know the path the Lord has for me. A moving and poignant story that has needed to be told.... with many lessons for us all. David Stanley elucidates the unforgettable draw of Elvis to this day, which may not be obvious to many, but it why Graceland continues to one of the most visited sites in America. From the story of Elvis we can make connections to explore our own unrecognized gifts. Dr Gruder provides a path to evolve in a meaningful way. Ffor those who may not know where to start their own journey it may help the process.

Mr.Stanley has the dubious distinction of having planted the "Elvis committed suicide" story (a big malicious LIE if ever there was one). A staggering revelation he did NOT report in his FIRST book, ELVIS WE LOVE YOU TENDER (1979) In fact,in that book he actually claims that Elvis would NEVER do such a thing! (I will perhaps locate the page and list it for you so you can read it for yourself) Then several years later he fabricated the suicide story in order to make money selling books for an equally sleazy author, Albert Goldman and their quick cash-in paperback ELVIS THE LAST 24 HOURS.Joe Esposito, another Elvis opportunist, went on the Geraldo show and personally attacked the malicious allegation to Stanleys face. But he was not deterred, and to this day has never offered a public apology or begged forgiveness for his disgraceful,denegrating-to-Elvis bull---- storytelling.

Yes, ever since then, Mr.Stanley has been stuck with his fabricated lie and has basically had to live with it since. He has done at least two additional books since then..plus a movie where HE was the focus of the story and NOT Elvis (PROTECTING THE KING I think it was called)..and now yet ANOTHER book where he again focuses the spotlight on HIMSELF instead of ELVIS (just look at the cover!)And I am more than willing to bet that the positive reviews appearing here were posted by sycophantic friends or "fans".

So, the question is: When does a man finally decide he has made enough money by selling self-serving, ego-driven versions of the same story over and over? Perhaps NEVER in the world of David Stanley. A self-proclaimed "motivational speaker".I must hand it to Mr.
