5.0 out of 5 stars The author of Hollywood Lesbians
I have read a few books by this author. I find them entertaining. CONVERSATIONS WITH MY ELDERS has interviews of celebrities telling of their homosexual experiences. Sal Mineo, Rock Hudson, etc., when they were still alive. He promised not to write about them until after they passed on. They did and he did..write this book. Hard to find and out of print. But, Amazon...

1.0 out of 5 stars Conversations with the dead
The low point of this book comes in the interview with Visconti. Hadleigh asks Visconti if he ever met Winckelmann. Visconti says no, he hadn't. Visconti leaves Hadleigh blissfully ignorant of the fact that Hadleigh has just made an utter fool of himself by asking a man born in 1906 whether he has ever met a man who died in 1768.

Hadleigh's authenticity is highly suspicious. He claims to have been hit on by Cary Grant and Brad Davis among others. Have you ever seen him on A&E Bio interviews? I think both could have done much better....

His other book HOLLYWOOD LESBIANS has an article of mine naming 70 Bisexual actresses. He showed it to Barbara Stanwyck who made the top of the list. Another hard to find book by this author.

2.0 out of 5 stars Yeah. Right., January 21, 1998

I would really like to hear the tapes of Hadleigh's interviews. Whether or not the gentlemen in this book were gay is not the point; the point is, would Cary Grant, Randolph Scott, et al, willingly out themselves to some writer (with a tape recorder) they'd just met after being in the closet for decades? The fact that Hadleigh waited till all his subjects were dead before publishing only raises my eyebrows higher.
