This book is a wonderful way to capture information for your son (or for a son to capture the information from his father). Some wording does not make sense, e.g., "How am I different from your other kids?" when there is an only child in the family. Also, I found the area for writing any detailed response to a question too small in many cases. Also, writing on the slick (very nice looking pages) is a challenge unless you have the right pen (that works nicely on slick paper) and, if a mistake is made, trying to fix the mistake messes up the look of the book. I love the concept, but look at better options for packaging the product.

I was surprised and a bit ashamed when I realized I know very little of my father and his life outside of being my Dad. I stumbled across this book after poking around on Amazon. I had been looking for a well bound book will intelligent questions and plenty of room to write. I was delighted when I opened this up and found just that. No, every question isn't perfect or even relevant to my family life but this book does an excellent job at getting an overview of the major life benchmarks. This book will help me know my Dad, not just as the boy he was but the man he became.

This a beautiful journal, and asks really good questions to reflect on your (or your father's) life. Simple, yet thought provoking, and covers all of the topics you would want to discuss/know about. I highly recommend this journal as a wonderful keepsake for your family.

Working on this with my Dad is a treasure in itself, I think he is enjoying it as much as I am.

I got this book so that I could have something for my daughter to read when she's older and my father is gone so that she can continue to know/have a connection with her Grandfather. So far filling it out has been a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this book and will probably be buying copies for my friends and inlaws.

I used it for my Grandpa. We learned a lot of things that I would have never thought to ask. Some of the answers his own kids didnt know about. I learned how growing up during the Depression was for his family. Also when he was in WWII. He never talked about any of that when we were little. It gives you great questions to ask and lots of room to write the answers.

My brother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and he had an 11 year old daughter, so I bought this book, read him the questions and wrote his answers. We enjoyed the discussions, I loved the time with him, and it is a wonderful gift for his daughter, now that he is gone. He actually gave it to her just before he passed, and it holds a lot of sentimental value.
