Hislop was a devotee of Sai Baba several decades ago when the crowds were less. He had the privelage of having many interviews with Baba. This book is a collection of many taped interviews where Hislop asks Sai Baba many very intelligent questions about the nature of man and the universe. Hislop shows himself to be intelligent and spiritually developed, and his questions seem to come from a lot of inner inquiry. Baba's answers, of course, are direct and confident, and many of the things said in this book are worthy of several days of thought.

This is not Sai Baba's discourses, where he speaks in a more general way so as to reach all types of people. This is Baba answering questions placed by an advanced, sincere spiritual seeker. If you could ask the creator of the univere whatever you wanted, what would you ask?

So often when I read about Sia Baba it has to do with the author's impressions and changes due to his contact with this Holy Man and that's good reading, too. But this question and answer type conversation gave a good understanding of what Baba's teaching is all about. Very informative. Well worth the read for any Sai Baba reader.
