is it me or is it the shoes?,

I'm a size 11 but the seller claims the shoes run big so I had to order a half-size smaller. I did get the 10.5 and I love the look and feel of the shoes when I put them on. However as soon as I start walking, the heel part keeps slipping off and I feel pinches all over. I can't even walk in these shoes! Is it the size then? Are the shoes too narrow for me? I would like to return them but I've since lost the box. I threw it away together with the invoice/receipt on the first day and didn't really try them on till about a month later. My stupid mistake.
