5.0 out of 5 stars Love 'em!
These are what my husband wear at work, they were supplied to him as a Federal tech and he LOVES them! When my BIL who works for the prisons needed a new pair of boots we got him these, he too loves them! They fit just like a comfy running shoe but are great for work. They both get about a year of 50 hour work weeks out of them, which is great considering how hard they...

2.0 out of 5 stars There's a reason these boots are only $100.00
Okay, so I got cheap and ordered a $100.00 pair of boots. BIG mistake. Knowing they were going to get ruined quickly, I decided to get these over a third pair of Danner boots for work. I liked the idea of the side zip so I decided to give these a try.

i bought my pair localy for $129. was gona be for work but they are so comfortable. im wearing them all the time now. i didnt even need to brake them in. typicaly im just work & jungle boots. compared to those these feel like pillows. high ankle support, odd looking tred, but in lightly wet, muddy, grassy area they are keeping grip. so far so good, gona give them a test run on a week long backpacking trip.

Okay, so I got cheap and ordered a $100.00 pair of boots. BIG mistake. Knowing they were going to get ruined quickly, I decided to get these over a third pair of Danner boots for work. I liked the idea of the side zip so I decided to give these a try.

1. The lining and tongue padding are too thick - I have to unlace the boots to open them far enough for the zipper to work, negating the point of having a side zipper.

2. The ankle hinge is cut oddly (for me, at least) and rubs the lateral malleous of my fibula (that bony knot on the outside of your ankle). This annoys me to no end.

If it weren't for the hinge issue, I'd rate these boots higher. The zipper thing is an annoyance, but not a deal breaker. Based on the other reviews, I may just have an oddly-shaped ankle (which is entirely possible given the abuse they've taken over the years) so your mileage may vary...

5.0 out of 5 stars The zipper makes it great., November 20, 2011

A quality boot that's quite warm and with a zipper making very easy on and off once you adjust the laces to fit. I use them for cold weather motorcycle boots so the waterproof design is really a plus as well. Nothing worse than riding with wet feet in the cold. A good price especially when compared to traditional motorcycle boots which can cost 2 or 3 times as much. They are a bit high or thick in the toes area which could be a problem for shifting your gears. Real motorcycle boots tend to be a smaller dimension in the toes. That also makes for cold toes however. I choose to have warm comfortable toes and make a very little extra effort in shifting. But that's just me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as advertised., July 4, 2011

They are not waterproof. I wore them through tall wet grass and they soaked all the way through. I should have just worn sneakers. The sizes run big too.

2.0 out of 5 stars mens converse duty boot, December 17, 2010

The boots are every bit as comfortable as advertised. Like many shoes that are designed today , the soles are glued to the uppers. In six weeks the sole started to separate. I used gorilla glue to bond. Maybe shoe mfg in china can develop a better glue.

At first the boots were uncomfortable but after two days of wearing they broke in. Now they feel great. A little hard to lace up though but other than that they are great.
