1.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete and inaccurate parts list and plans, December 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Convertible Crib/full Bed Furniture Woodworking Plans (Misc.)
In the wood list there are several boards not listed requiring a second trip to the hardware store. Also the metal and bolts required list is very vauge without any drawings to help you select the correct ones... again an extra trip to the hardware store.

The plans mention a bandsaw required. This is true if you want to put the cap rails on the back and sides.

The plans say a drill press is required. It does not mention a chisel press attachment is required for the drill press.

The plans call for a 3/8 inch sheet of plywood under the crib matress with no support rails. I added rails becuase putting a 20 lb bag of flour on the plywood almost broke it.

Lastly the plans lead you to make a crib 2 inches longer then the standard crib matress. This results in a large hole on either the head or foot of the crib. I added an extra board distracting from the look of the crib.

Bottom line: these plans are a place to start from but in order to build a crib with them you have to reread them several times, your matress with be too small, you will make several trips to the hardware store, and I made several changes to the plans to make the crib better. I would suggest buying a different plan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely bed for any baby, November 3, 2010

The print was clean and clear. The directions are easy to follow and all around very happy with this purchase. Happy that it doesn't have a drop side which can be very dangerous. We plan to add matching drawers to it's base for storage.

This set of plans was not worth the paper it was printed on! Starting with the list of parts being incorrect, to most of the measurements being incorrect it was not an enjoyable project at all!! It states in the plans "2-3 day project"...NOT. I would not recommend these set of plans for anyone. I am an experienced woodworker, I would really hate for a newbie to get these plans and try to build this crib going exactly by them! I've had to make soo many changes to make things fit together. I agree with an earlier poster (which I should have read closer before purchasing) the hardware list is so vague. It calls for 5/16" dowel pins, but doesn't mention length you need. And, if you are making JUST the crib for the time, half of the hardware in the list is for when you make a full size bed.
