4.0 out of 5 stars Good debut album and ep, October 28, 2011

This review is from: Conviction//Experimental Errors (Audio CD)
"The Conviction" album barely sounds like what Accuser became only 2 years later. It's more like straight up 80's metal but with a slightly thrashy influence. There are definately some very fast thrash riffs on it too, but there's more use of minor chords and one note higher than power chords, if that makes sense. Power metal bands use those types of chords nowadays. The musicianship is good and Eberhard Weyel actually used to sing. He wasn't all that good at it but at least he tried. After that, he pretty much didn't sing at all, just did the growl yelling. This is a very hard to find album, even on ebay. I recommend downloading it. I think "Experimental Errors" isn't all that great of an album. It has some pretty simple and not very memorable riffs on it. It really only has 4 songs on it. The other two are very short instrumentals. "Ratouli" opens with a slowed down version of the riff that ended up being the first heavy riff in "Master Of Disaster" from "Who Dominates Who?".
