I know print books frequently have a "other books by this author" at the beginning, but it's far easier to skip over the beginning pages of a print book. It always leaves me feeling a bit irritated to see a "buy my other stuff" when I haven't even seen this one yet.

That being said, the author might want to consider placing hyperlinks to the other books (at the end, preferably) rather than plain text to make it easy for people to access them.

The introduction is inconsistent - the title says chicken is vol. 4, but the intro says vol. 1. It's a chicken cookbook but the introduction refers to "appetizers" in more than one spot. There are some typos - "as there are so many I've decided to put them into a serious" (series). There is a hyperlinked table of contents with 14 recipes.

There are a few typos ("salt and paper," "pepper t taste," "3500 F") but they don't really interfere with readability.

Most ingredients are given in standard volume-based measurements, although some are in both metric and standard weight-based units. (Meat is grams and ounces, as is cheese, for example.) One measurement apparently was missed for conversion, as one recipe calls for a "23cm (xx) pie plate."

One recipe calls for using the "remaining marinade" during the cooking process. There are two problems with this. One is that I can't see in the recipe where there should be any "remaining" marinade. All the pre-cooking seasoning components are listed as used. The other comment I would make is that any marinade which has touched raw meat should either be boiled before using or discarded.

At the end, the "click here to review" is not hyperlinked.

So why, with all these issues, am I giving this one 4 stars?

I was looking for simple recipes for chicken and liked this book. Like the other reviewer said, there could have been a better job of editing, but I liked the ingredients that were used.

These recipes are pretty basic. They are easy to understand and the ingredients are readily available. I believe the recipes in this cookbook are good base recipes that can be improved on.

I grabbed this when it came up free. The recipes are pretty basic, but different, which is nice. There are expected typos throughout, the only issue is that you may run into a question here or there if you strictly follow the recipes. But someone wanting some dinner ideas and list of ingredients (which is what I was looking for in a free book) will find what they are looking for. For those that wonder: I did a little searching online and this does not appear to be a copy and paste job, which I also appreciate.
