Sam says thumbs-up!,
This review is from: Cook It in a Cup!: Quick Meals and Treats Kids Can Cook in Silicone Cups (Spiral-bound)
My 5 year old son loves to cook, and he enjoys this cookbook. The book is a smaller size (good for little hands) and bright colored, with easy-to-follow instructions and lots of pictures. He especially likes smashing things into crumbs for crusts with his toy hammer. The brownies are excellent, not as overwhelmingly chocolatey as most recipes, and the tiny fruit tarts are also very good. The cups seem to be holding up well, although cleaning by hand is a pain (they are dishwasher safe, thankfully). Like any recipe, you have to adjust for your own kitchen, I find the times in the book don't really match my quirky oven, but that's more about my oven than the cookbook.

Great product!,

My daughter received the Cook It In a Cup set for her 5th birthday, and she, her 2 year old sister and I are LOVING this! The kids love the novelty of the cups, and the recipes are really tailored so that the kids can be a big part of the preparation. There is great variety in the food, from very healthy selections (baked fish and veggies) to sweet treats (brownies). This has been a wonderful way to inspire my kids to enjoy cooking, and to get them to eat foods they might not otherwise be willing to try. I would recommend this to ANY parent!

I'm new to silicone products and I think these little cups are so cute and interesting. Most things come out really easy and kids love to pick a color when they are done. The cookbook is great! Easy to read, colorful and lots of interesting recipes. So far, we have tried the easy eggs, brownies, banana-chip muffins and the potato nests. We have altered several of the recipes since one of my children has an egg and dairy allergy and the results have been fine (for brownies, used egg replacer and doubled the flour). Some of the items have needed to cook longer than specified. We look forward to trying all the recipes!

This book was the perfect gift for my 9 year old who loves to cook. She could do most of the recipes herself, and the cups made anything fun. She could also cook most of them in the microwave, so she could cook independently. The only drawback is that the recipes all kinda seemed the same after a while. Still, overall, it is a great buy for a very young cook. You'd be surprised what kids will eat out of a colored cup that they'd never eat off a plate!

I picked it up used. But it arrived in original package and doesn't look used at all...maybe shop worn on outside of package but basically intact and complete right down to the little rings that hold the silicon cups apart. Didn't expect the cups....but already have a dozen Red and a dozen solid green cups. These cups don't always seem to allow the cupcake or muffin mixes to rise as far up as do paper cups or metal muffin tins. But they can be handy. A tad difficult to get clean but never have tried the dishwasher as one lady recommends works for her. Might do that one of these days. Anyway the cook book is pretty decent for a kids oriented cook book. I think I will be able to come up with my own versions of meals in these cups using this as a starting guide. A chili cup with a cornmeal muffin mix cooked on top for one. I'm not a big fan of cookie crusts or frozen roll dough but the lemon pies are quite interesting and look forward to giving those a try and also a key lime alternate make it with lime instead. I'll use real lemon juice not bottled. And it's unclear if they pat the dough crust up the sides of the cups as it says just pat out on the bottom. But the picture shows the crust clearly up the sides and the filling clearly in the middle....so trial and error will accompany some of these recipes. I already thought it might make great date filled cookie bars when I saw the brownies. I don't see why it wouldn't. I make a cookie dough for top and bottom and usually pat out the bottom 2/3'd of dough then spread on the date filling and sprinkle the rest of the dough that's been kept crumbly over the top as evenly as possible. I can make one batch in a 9 by 13 inch standard cake pan. So the 24 now plus 6 cups might just make a whole batch of bars at one time using that recipe. And brownies our family loves my somewhere between fudge and cake recipe I developed over the years too. NO reason you have to limit yourself or your little one to just 3-6 cups by seeing how much some of your family favorites fit in the cups for individual portions cooked ahead. Great for sack or carried lunches too. My husband and I are not fond of the sides of some items not browning up nice in these cups so we'll see how it all works out...and maybe gain some insight on that too. Over all...I think it's a good gift for not just kids but adults and elderly wanting smaller portions they might be able to freeze or store too. And of course more cups and try some of the full size recipes you already enjoy in these and always think outside of the box.....lifes full of pleasant surprises if you are open to them.

My two kids, 10 & 6 years old, loved cooking out of this book! The recipes are easy, and the kids like the small sizes. We've tried several of the recipes, and they were all tasty. We did have some of the mix left over, so we put it in a silicon cupcake pan that I have. We've also used the cups for those smaller bags of muffin mixes, like Jiffy, where you only get 6 muffins. It's way better than messing up a whole pan, and I can toss them in the dishwasher (the cups, not the muffins...). Yay, Julia Mayall!

My three year old son loves to help me in the kitchen. I saw this product and thought it would be so perfect for him! He enjoyed picking out his own color to use. The first thing he made in it was the egg and he was so excited about making his own breakfast!!

Bought this to make mini meals! Love the book!! The silicone cups alone are worth the price. The recipes are all easy and delicious - I've recommended this book to several friends with small children. I have no children and still enjoy the book.

My daughter got this for her 10th birthday and it is a great set. She made the homemade brownie recipe and I was much impressed. She puts regular cookie dough and brownie dough in them, too, to make mini cupcake treats. I love that the clean up is easy and the food pops right out. They're even microwavable! Yeah!

Impressed my sister, the foodie,

I got these for cooking with our 3 and 5 year old children. The mini meatloaves were so delicious, even my food snob (I mean this in a nice way) sister loved them. We love it and the kids think it's super fun. The cups are fun, don't get burning hot like metal cupcake tins and are easy to wash.
