3.0 out of 5 stars Quick Recipes - Difficult Ingredients
I do give the cook book credit for quick recipes. However, the ingredients aren't things that you would commonly have on hand, which to me makes more preperation time, effort and money. I would have also liked to have seen more pictures. I actually was going to return the book, but it wasn't cost effective and I will use it for some of the recipes.

I've been using Weight Watchers cookbooks for at least 20 years. While the older cookbooks were kind of hit or miss, I must say that in the last few years the cookbooks have improved to the point that everything I've tried has been a hit.

This one is really a winner! The Sweet and Sour Pork, while not a traditional sweet and sour recipe (it's sweet but doesn't contain any "sour," such a vinegar or lemon juice), is very flavorful and a real favorite in our house.

Everything I've tried so far has turned out great and, as billed, is quick and easy to make. It's so great to have a repertoire of recipes that you can make at the last minute on your busiest days.

My husband doesn't even realize he's eating Weight Watchers recipes! They are that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars I give this one 5 stars!!, May 5, 2005

These are the yummiest recipes ever. This book made my husband broaden his horizons and eat food he had never eaten before in his life, including eggs! The recipes are fast, simple and you will find alot of the ingredients called for already on hand in your own home. I try 5 recipes a week and have yet to find one we don't love and have been trying the book out for a month now. The points are listed on each recipe so it makes it easy to count what you eat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for getting a healthy meal on the table quickly, December 6, 2006

This review is from: Cook It Quick!: Speedy Recipes with Low POINTS Value in 30 Minutes or Less (Paperback)
This is a great go-to book for relatively straightforward meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. I find that most of the recipes actually can be done within this time-frame, and they are fairly easy to make. Many recipes are even done in as little as 15 or 20 minutes and still taste surprisingly good (for example, the chicken curry recipe took about 20 minutes and was incredibly easy--it's a sweet curry with mango chutney, orange juice, and optional golden raisins). Recipes here run the gamut of flavors: American, Asian, Italian, Mexican, and more. The section on "family favorites" includes kid-friendly recipes like sloppy joes, shepherd's pie, and tex-mex chicken fingers. There are also a few elegant and sophisticated dishes (e.g., Capellini with Smoked Salmon and Caviar) that could impress company. This is not, however, a gourmet-style cookbook. You will not find many recipes that simply blow you away with their intense flavor, but you will find recipes that simply taste good and are made with easy-to-find ingredients that can be prepared on a busy weeknight. I appreciate that the recipes often call for fresh, whole ingredients; they are simple to make without resorting too often to short-cuts like processed sauces and canned vegetables. Highly recommended for people who want to eat healthy but don't have unlimited budgets/time. Added bonus: the pages are glossy and there are some (though I wish there were more) very nice color photos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cookbook for busy weeknights!, February 17, 2007
This review is from: Cook It Quick!: Speedy Recipes with Low POINTS Value in 30 Minutes or Less (Paperback)
I love cooking but due to a busy career with great demands, I usually reserve the weekends for cooking a gourmet meal. During the week, I'm often too tired to prepare a meal after work but now that WW has released Cook It Quick, that's no longer a problem!

All of the recipes in the book are 9 Points or less per serving and are ready in 30 minutes or less! At first, I was skeptical about the preparation and cooking time, but it's true. I've tried several of the recipes including Creamy Beef and Noodles, Pork Chops with Cider Vinegar Glaze, Curried Chicken Nuggets with Spinach (a hit with my family) and last night we had Spanish Chicken with Rice and Beans. They're all delicious and ready within a 1/2 hour or less, including prep time.

When you buy the book, you'll receive a bonus in the back pages: 10 Best Ever 15-Minute Recipes! These recipes are just as delicious and are even faster to prepare. Try the Curry Chicken, Jerk Turkey Cutlets and another one of our favourites, Salmon Teriyaki with Gingered Spinach. Your family and guests will never guess that these are WW dishes. They taste too good to be considered "diet food". This book is proof that we don't have to compromise on taste to eat healthy food. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful book!, October 2, 2006
This review is from: Cook It Quick!: Speedy Recipes with Low POINTS Value in 30 Minutes or Less (Paperback)
As a busy mom of three, this book has been a lifesaver for me. The meals require very little preparation and few ingredients. It's wonderful to whip up a nice lunch for my husband on his day off, or a quick dinner on the table for my kids in less than 30 minutes. The best part is knowing the meal is healthy. No more fast food for us!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best WW Book of them All, June 27, 2007
This review is from: Cook It Quick!: Speedy Recipes with Low POINTS Value in 30 Minutes or Less (Paperback)
I went to my local bookstore and searched through their entire rack of WW cookbooks before making a purchase. This book was by far the best. The recipes are fairly easy and I found myself tagging about every other page to try for later. The other WW books were either cheap in quality (pages were printed only in b/w or on thin paper) or their recipes were too hard or detailed to prepare. I like a cookbook that is short, yet packed full of recipes I'll actually use. When it comes to cookbooks boasting several hundred recipes - I find that I'll only use maybe a 1/4 of them, because so many are "filler" recipes or just too difficult to make. I mean come-on, when you've come home from a 10-hour work day, who wants to attempt to cook duck????

Anyway, this WW cookbook had the recipes I was looking for and I'm glad I made the purchase.

This book has enough of a variety, that I've cooked recipes from it nearly every night of the week for a month! An added bonus -- my family has raved about the results and don't have a clue they are Weight Watchers recipes. Recipes that are quick to fix, easy to cook, with few ingredients add up to a cookbook that will get lots of use!
