Not just for College Kids, January 2, 2008

My mom bought me this book many years ago (1983)when I moved out. I have used it ever since and love it. It is the only cookbook I have kept for such an extended time. It is practical, has great info about stuff other than cooking (laundry), and the recipes use every day ingredients unlike many other cookbooks. It is a favorite of my husband and I and when my kid goes to college I will buy her the new version!

Probably the best cookbook for people who want no nonsense recipes. The best pancake recipe i've ever had is in this book as well as the apple crisp recipe. I was so upset when I lost this book and now I ordered it again and will keep it under lock and key!!!!
