2.0 out of 5 stars Too much grain
Many of these recipes cannot be used by people with grain allergies, yeast or IBS and gluten sensitivities. If you have any of these problems you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Recipes and Artwork, January 10, 2001
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
This has to be the most beautiful cookbook I have ever seen! It is full of really cool drawings of cows, sheep, dogs, and flowers. I also really enjoyed the quotes from famous vegetarians. The cookbook is completely vegan and full of easy to make recipes. I really enjoyed the Carob Balls, Marinated carrots, Creamed spinach, and Potato Zucchini Casserole. The only drawbook this book has is that many of the ingredients are kind of expensive. I look forward to trying more of the recipes after I graduate from college.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful alternative to standard american diet cookbooks, March 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
people who understand the benefits of a vegan diet will love this book. this book is filled with great recipes. children as young as 6 can show signs of athersclerosis (hardening of the arteries) when they eat the standard american diet (meat- dairy-based). People who do not want their kids (or themselves) to follow an unhealthy path toward heart disease will appreciate what this book has to offer. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a cookbook; also a spiritual book., August 27, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book to other vegans and also to non-vegans who are interested in knowing why we do not eat or use animals or any products derived from them. And for those who would like that infamous question answered, "Then what do you eat?" Reading this book provided a very spiritual experience for me, with the quotes, poems and essays included throughout the book touching my heart and soul deeply. And the recipes throughout the book prove that we vegans do not really sacrifice taste and texture by giving up rotten carcuses. I think that you will really value this book as it is well worth the low price, in terms of your health and peace of mind as well as the environment. Most importantly, though, the animals will thank you!
Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Cookbook for People who Love Animals, February 16, 2000
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
This book is what is needed for all humanity to gain Understanding & Knowledge of why you should be or become a Vegan. Three issues: Compassion for All Life, including animals, your health so you can be a shining example for others,Vegans rarely get sick! And to be good stewards for our (GODS) beautiful Earth, thru Ecology. People don't need to eat meat, they eat too much protein. All the protein you need is in fruit & veggies. Go to & read Genesis 1:29. This is the way God wants us to eat, like Adam & Eve.Then you will feel Great & full of ENERGY!

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful vegan cookbook, October 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
This is a lovely and very loving cookbook for vegans. Along with delicious recipes, this cookbook contains loving, warm anecdotes that leave you feeling beautiful and positive in your vegan cooking and vegan lifestyle. I believe this book has also helped me focus on living a very peaceful Zen Buddhist lifestyle. This book is for everyone who loves animals and wants to cook with only the ingredients that will NOT put them in danger and will love and respect animals for the angels that they are!

5.0 out of 5 stars bought in 1992 and still using it!!, January 22, 2012
This review is from: The Cookbook for People Who Love Animals (Paperback)
I purchased this book when I was newly vegan, way back in 1992. It was and continues to be accessible as well as inspirational. I was not as interested in calories/protein/carbohydrates as I was passionate about not sacrificing animals to feed myself while still maintaing health and vitality. Informative without being preachy or boring. Love it---still vegan 20 years and 3 kids later.
