I am a stay at home mom always looking for some new activities to do. I have never baked anything but choclate chip cookies and cupcakes from a box, and I wanted to try something new even though I am a bit challenged in the kitchen. :-)
This book outlines everything you need to get started and even tells you where you can find your "equipment". At no time did I feel overwhelmed in getting started.
My 4 year old son and I, plus my neighbor and her kids (6yrs & 14yrs) had the best time decorating our Easter cookies. The kids especially enjoyed eating the last of the icing from the icing bags!! This is a great activity to pass a rainy day or cold afternoon stuck inside. My cookies didn't look like the author's, but I could see I was getting better at decorating with each cookie I did. I can't wait to bake some more!!

I've only just flipped through this book, but it's average at best. The color chart is the best feature. There are some fun ideas, but nothing truly spectacular. Read morePublished on April 3, 2008 by Jennie M. Tracy
