Book Description

A new collection of delicious cookie recipes—all for a good cause

In 2007, Gretchen Holt-Witt set the lofty goal of baking and selling 96,000 cookies during the holidays, all in the name of funding research for pediatric cancer, the #1 killer of kids in the United States and the disease her young son was battling. Armed with the determination of a mom on a mission plus the knowledge that funds for research mean more treatment options, better survival rates, and hope for the future, Holt-Witt succeeded in selling all 96,000 cookies and raising over $400,000 for new pediatric cancer treatments.

Soon after, Gretchen and her husband Larry founded Cookies for Kids' Cancer (cookiesforkidscancer.org), a national nonprofit that inspires people to host bake sales of all sizes, from desktops and porches to entire corporations and communities, with some raising more than $100,000 in a day. Gretchen's first book, Cookies for Kids' Cancer Best Bake Sale Cookbook, raised thousands more for pediatric cancer research. All the Good Cookies gathers a mouthwatering collection of recipes that promise to satisfy any cookie craving, with the author's profits again going to the charity.

  • Features a wealth of cookie recipes, from Raspberry Thumbprints to Boston Cream Whoopie Pies
  • All of the author's royalties will benefit the charity Cookies for Kids' Cancer
  • A follow-up to the successful Cookies for Kids' Cancer Best Bake Sale Cookbook

For anyone who loves baking cookies and making a real difference in the world, Cookies for Kids' Cancer: All the Good Cookies is a perfect way to do both at the same time.

every cookie makes a difference

Cookies for Kids' Cancer was founded on the simple belief that no one can resist the allure of a cookie or the desire to help a worthy cause. The first Cookies for Kids' Cancer cookbook introduced the cause to tens of thousands of new supporters with a collection of delicious recipes perfect for a bake sale or anytime. Now, in All the Good Cookies, this all-new cookie compendium, you'll find a wealth of mouthwatering recipes that will satisfy any cookie craving, from Raspberry Thumbprints to Boston Cream Whoopie Pies. This is so much more than a cookbook. There are great inspiring stories of people from everywhere that were inspired to do something for pediatric cancer research- Gretchen Holt- Witt has inspired many by sharing her son's battle with Neuroblastoma- The recipes and pictures are amazing - This is a wonderful book to give and to get- especially since money from the book will fund clinical trials for children fighting the number one disease killer, pediatric cancer. Cookies For Kids' Cancer is a great charity and this book gives you a picture of this sweet cause for our children.

5.0 out of 5 stars So much more than recipes. . . May 3, 2013
By Emily
Format:Hardcover
Most people buy cookbooks for the recipes and no doubt these recipes are easy to follow, delicious, and in many cases, a fun twist on a classic or something entirely new and fun. But this cookbook is a lot more than just sweets. As amazing as the recipes are, the rest of the book is what makes this cookbook a page turner. Throughout All the Good Cookies are stories of people who have supported the cause that the author founded - Cookies for Kids' Cancer. These individuals have done extraordinary things to help fight pediatric cancer through grassroots fundraisers in their communities. The stories will inspire you to bake with passion and to give back. A great book to keep or to give to those you love.

Once again, Gretchen Holt-Witt has put together an amazing set of stories about Good Cookies everywhere, who have worked to pull together events large and small, all in the name of pediatric cancer research. Cookies for Kids' Cancer is a fabulous organization, and I'm excited to try out several of these recipes at the next bake sale! This makes a great gift (along with a OXO Good Grips Good Cookie Spatula, Green).

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good cookies June 9, 2013
By J.H.
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I've only made the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and they are excellent. I cut the recipe in half, since i did not need 5 dozen. Some of the other recipes are also for very large batches of cookies, but this would be great for a bake sale. This book has pictures of most of the cookies, which I like very much. The recipes are quite varied, from easy to difficult and many different flavors. Most of them use very common ingredients from the grocery store.

As a supporter of Cookies for Kids Cancer I couldn't wait to get my new cookbook in hand! I received it a few days ago and was thrilled! The recipes are easy to follow , many with pictures that make your mouth water! If you are not familiar with Cookies the detail inside will make you a fan and hopefully inspire you to have your own bake sale to benefit this wonderful cause. Great book, even greater cause. A must have for your own kitchen and perhaps a few extras as gifts :)
