This album is fantastic, Louis, what's wrong with you? Write the backs of cereal boxes, instead of reviews. Okay?

5.0 out of 5 stars This Cajun CD is COOKIN'!!!!, April 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cookin Cajun (Audio CD)
Don't believe the above review!!! This CD is an impressive effort by two of Cajun music's most extraordinary artists. As a HUGE fan of Eddy Raven, I had been waiting for him to do a new album of Cajun music for years, since at the time I was unable to locate his "That Cajun Country Sound" album. So this album is a dream come true for me, and Raven's versions of "Colinda" and "Papa Thibodeux" on this CD are even better than his original recordings of these songs on "That Cajun Country Sound," and that is going some. His rendition of "Big Mamou" is also a standout. So don't pay any attention to anyone who badmouths this EXTRAORDINARY album; run, don't walk to order it!!! You will not be sorry!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Deserved more attention than it got. 5 stars, July 6, 2009
This review is from: Cookin' Cajun (MP3 Download)
This cd deserved way more attention than it got. I wasn't able to buy this album because i couldn't find it. Now it's no longer available to buy on cd. I'm glad i got to hear "Fais Do Do" again. I just wish i could find this cd as "Last Chance New" or "Last Chance Unopened" (2 different conditions). My favorite store that WOULD have had this cd though went out of business last August though, so i may NEVER get to have the cd. Such a shame.

Anyway, i give this cd/mp3 album 5 stars. The performances are superb. This IS country like you never heard before.

I found this as a tape in an antique store. It took a couple of playings, but it bacame my favorite driving music. If you can hear Zydeco Woman and not fall in love, you are dead, man. Lots of fun, and lots of movin'. I lost (a mechanic liberated) my tape, so I gotta get the CD now.

Hi
This CD Cookin Cajun, I have looked for a long time. Eddy Raven & Jo-el Sonnier are very talented musicians. I received my Cd from the Wherehouse in excellant condition. Matter of fact I reordered the same Cd for my husband. I hope it comes, he really loved it. The music is real upbeat and the combined singing of Eddy Raven and Jo-el Sonnier is excellant. Wonderful!!!! Wonderful!!!! These two musicians I hope they decide to do something else together on a CD. It really gets everyone attention when he plays it while going on a ride with his Harley Davidson. Makes the ride even better!!!!!
Thank you:
Cathy Alexander
